In the process of wrapping Christmas gifts, I needed a few more tags. I decided to try making one with My Digital Studio; that's the first tag below. After printing it, I matted it on a piece of Gumball Green card stock and punched my hole. If my printer hadn't been almost out of color ink, I would have printed a bunch of them because I really like the way it turned out and it would have saved so much time. Another year I think I'll design them to coordinate with my wrapping paper and print a whole bunch of them. This second card was made using my Big Shot and the Window Frames Framelits Dies. I also used the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, part of my pre-order. I had to emboss these cross stitches the old-fashioned way: I used my stylus. Actually, I ran it through the Big Shot first, but found that as I rotated my card stock, the folder flattened the other edges. But at least I could see where to press with my stylus. I missed the July Heartfelt Stampers team meeting and all the personal recognitions that went along with hit. I seldom miss, but my sister was moving into town the night of our meeting and I figured that was more important. It's so nice to have her nearby! Anyway, Aly made all the following items on "My Digital Studio". The first is a card recognizing me as 6th in sales for our team during the month of June. [Apparently I'm not getting things in my scanner straight so they look crooked even though they're not!] I haven't figured out how to rotate this scanned item on the blog. It is a full 8½" x 11" page recognizing me as—can you believe it?—6th in sales for the whole Stampin' Up! year! Of course, that's only for our team members, but it's still a huge accomplishment since we have over 100 demonstrators on our team. Finally, because of the months in which I sold over $1,000 and because of my one recruit, I am part of Aly's Grand...

My son's birthday is today and he thinks cards are a waste of time and money, so I send him digital cards. This is the one I sent him this year, created with My Digital Studio. So many digital possibilities! Do you recognize past designer paper? How about the Modern Label punch? And, of course, the grosgrain ribbon. The stamp sets featured here are no longer in the catalog (Big Bold Birthday and Best Birthday Wishes) but can are part of the digital package forever, as is the birthday designer paper. As I'm looking at this, I'm wishing I had added brads to the modern label and maybe even a shadow to make it look like it had dimensionals beneath it. I need to practice making more digital cards and using it for scrapbooks and calendars.

This is what I came up with using My Digital Studio. Notice how the punched stars and the buttons look three-dimensional. I'm still playing with this new medium for cards and I'm certain I will become more creative with practice.

I have been playing with My Digital Studio from Stampin' Up! The birth and adoption of our granddaughter provided the perfect occasion for a card that would be professionally printed. I first tried it using a designer template. It was a beautiful card, but somehow the photo just didn't look right on it, so I decided to choose the option to create my own design. I chose the colors to coordinate with the nursery. I was able to "stamp" the elephant on the front because all stamp sets are available to me through My Digital Studio (MDS). I could never afford to purchase all the stamp sets in the catalog, although I certainly purchase enough of them! I chose the 5x7 size option simply so it could be framed. Inside the card I have the "vital statistics": birth date, weight, length and parents' names (October 24, 2009, 5 lbs. 4 oz., 18-3/4 ins.)
