I think the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Paper is my favorite of all time! It is so rich and the pieces work so well together. This card, with its special fold and use of three different designs, is one of my favorites so far. One of the things I have learned in making cards is that the final measurement is what counts. When the card is folded, it should measure 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" for a standard card that fits our medium envelopes. Play around with folds and you can do almost anything, although this is one of the more common folds. My card base was one sheet cut lengthwise at 5-1/2", resulting in a piece that was  5-1/2" x 11". Because I knew the resulting card size, I scored it at 4-1/4".  The remaining segment can simply be folded in half, but the scoring would be at 3-3/8". In case you hadn't guessed, I have been buying an awful lot of supplies lately. In fact, to acquire this particular stamp set for free, I had to spend $100.00. When I used the various images in this set, I put them all on one clear block. I do wish the "anniversary" was a little higher up, but it still works. As I tried to decide on a background for this stamp, I decided the Fresh Florals designer series paper was perfect. I'm a sucker for flowers! And this stamp set, Lots of Lavender, is designed in such a way that you do not need to do any coloring. For my class, I laid the leaf and stem fill-ins on top of the stamped image and then picked them up with a clear block so we could stamp all three pieces at once. Worked wonderfully! Lots of possibilities with this stamp set. By the way, I think Stampin' Up!'s dimensionals are the best! So many of the others I have seen are much too thick. Ours are just right. And for those rare occasions when you want something thicker, you can place two on top of each other. And now that we have the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, you need nothing more. And, although the package says 300 pieces, you have the borders of each card of dimensionals that are so useful, especially on some of those skinny pieces. I am delighted with the Daisy Delight stamp set and its coordinating Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper. And I certainly can't forget the Daisy Punch! As much as I love this particular sheet of dsp, I have to admit I struggled with how to use it. When I used the Calypso Coral for the daisy, I found it to be too much for the paper, but the Blushing Bride just wasn't enough. So I combined them! Two daisies stamped in Blushing Bride and one in Calypso Coral, staggered and layered. I even used those two colors for the center of the flower. A strip of ribbon and some leaves finished it off. Yes, the leaves needed to be fussy cut. Designing for my stamp class when also needing a special anniversary card for my daughter and son-in-law, I chose to use the "Best Birds" stamp set. I had long admired it in our previous catalog and was thrilled to discover it was carried over into the new catalog. So I quickly ordered the bundle while I could. I think this is one of my very favorite cards! No designer series paper on this one - I made my own using the new In Color, Powder Pink, along with last year's In Colors, Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy. Blender pens for coloring, Basic Black Archival Ink for stamping and Soft Suede for stamping on the background. I painted all items before cutting them out using the Birds & Blooms Thinlits. I thought mounting the birds so the female was leaning into the male made this card especially appropriate for an anniversary card. I am totally in love with this bundle, but I'm a little behind in my posting! This card is actually a card within a card. I hope you can catch the feel of it from these photos. When you untie the lace bow, the card opens up to this design:  I had originally thought I would add a tag to the front, which is why the oval for the Happy Anniversary. However, I decided it was too big to work with the card. When we replicated this card during my stamp class, we did not punch it out; we just stamped it between the horizontal designs. One of the Candy Dots (no longer available, but replaced with Enamel Shapes). Lift the front of the inner card and you see this: Although the stamp set was intended for wedding wishes, I love this verse for an anniversary as well. We've never had a good anniversary verse before. Besides, at my age I have need for more anniversary cards than I do for wedding cards. The card is made from Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla.

I am so excited to have a stamp set with a larger font for anniversary cards! And I love the floral design, too. I had fun playing with this, but I think there are many other possibilities for the future. The embossing folder is the only discontinued item on this card. My black ink of choice for this card was StazOn because I used my blender pens to color in the flowers. After using my embossing folder and putting the card together, I decided to daub a little Melon Mambo ink on it to make the design stand out. How appropriate to use a stamp set called "Lovely Romance" for an anniversary card! This design is very simple, the easiest of the bunch we made at my May stamp class using retiring products. Although I was planning to make cards for my class using retiring products, I found myself distracted and used more designer series paper from my older stash. These two cards are alike except for the color ink and the greeting stamp. The dsp is from the Venetian Romance pack (I had ordered two packs of that paper since I liked it so much). Since it is the retiring In Color Pistachio Pudding, I still have card stock to coordinate. In fact, I'm so sad to see that leave our catalog, that I actually ordered extra card stock and an ink refill so I can keep using it. Baked Brown Sugar is another departing In Color, also used on these cards. Even the Victoria Lace dates back to the 2013-14 catalog. But not the sequins! They are still available until June 3rd. I need a ton of anniversary cards for the month of June! So, as I looked through my stash of supplies, I chose Modern Medley designer series paper and the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die from the 2013-14 catalog. I love the elegance of these two anniversary cards. I also lined Very Vanilla envelopes with more dsp for that extra special touch.  The idea for this card came from one of the creations on the cover of the 2015-16 catalog.  This card just sort of happened. I had actually cut out the butterflies for this particular one, which I laid on top of a chocolate cake, traced the outline with a toothpick and then piped white frosting in the groove. Made a beautiful decoration for my Sour Cream Fudge cake with fudge frosting, which I donated to the dessert auction to raise funds for LeTourneau Christian Camp. Although I'm calling this card a Valentine, I haven't put a greeting on it because I believe it could also be used as an anniversary or a wedding card. I've used the Crisp Cantaloupe with this dsp because it is perfect with it. I am going to miss certain of the 2013-15 in colors - like the Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar and Pistachio Pudding. The flower is from the Sale-a-Bration catalog and is free with a $50 purchase. I love it that it's free and that it's a photopolymer set, but I'm bummed that it's only available through the end of March. The flower is comprised of three different stamps layered over each other. Stampin' Up suggests you start with the smaller image and the darkest ink, which works well for me. Others find it difficult and prefer to begin with the solid image and the lightest color. Although Summer Starfruit is not my favorite color, it seemed appropriate for a golden anniversary card because of its golden hues. Also, it coordinates well with the now retired Comfort Cafe designer series paper. I have to admit I also used the retired Fresh Vintage stamp set (a previous Sale-A-Bration offer) to decorate the hearts because the flowers seem similar to those used in the dsp. But the Memorable Moments stamp set, framelits, punch and embossing folders are still current, as are the Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse colors.

When my daughter saw this piece of designer series paper, she kept saying how much she liked it. By then it had already retired (last year's holiday mini catalog) and I had given a piece to my granddaughter to use. So I just had to incorporate it into their anniversary card. The card is 5¼" square but folded so it opens in the middle. I used our Hearts Collection Framelits to cut the overlapping hearts, which hold the card closed. We celebrated our 43rd anniversary last week and, of course, I had to make a card for my husband. I fear the bulkiness of this knotted ribbon made it difficult to scan the card without it laying crookedly in the scanner, but you get the idea. Sometimes I write poems for my cards, but I just wasn't verbally creative so I googled anniversary verses for the inside. I struggled, though, because some sites were rather raunchy, but I finally found an appropriate and very sweet verse. Just back from vacation and had to share this card I made for a silver anniversary. We had hoped to get to the celebration, but it was too much on top of the trip home. Although vacation was physically and spiritually refreshing, we were still very tired. We vacationed in the Adirondack Mountains at a place called Camp of the Woods in Speculator, NY. Believe me, it's not a camp where you rough it, although you can if you choose to. There is a campground as well as different types of accommodations. We have daily chapel and other optional activities—we love the concerts! Plus we spend time on the beach (Lake Pleasant) playing, boating, swimming, reading. Our daughters and their families were there as well as my sister's family.
