It's a Minion!

Another fun design for my little girls' stamping class is this one that required not stamping, although I gave them the option. Two girls used a thank you greeting from the retired Delightful Dozen stamp set while several others made their cards into Father's Day cards, stamping the greetings on the blue overalls. I cut everything out ahead of time so all they had to do was follow directions to glue the pieces on the card front. We used up my Basic Black and Basic Gray candy dots for buttons on the overalls. Such fun!

Too Stinkin' Cute!

Can it really be a month since I posted? A lot has been going on here, between holidays and medical needs and Christmas bazaar preparations and knitting mermaid blankets for three little girls (two granddaughters and one niece). But I made this card a while ago and sent it off to a friend back in Ohio who went in for a colonoscopy and ended up having her colon removed. What a shock for her! I also made an envelope to match but wonder if its busyness was a problem for the post office... The card makes me think of a composition notebook. I used the on a Basic Black card, which of course had to be lined in order to write my message, although I have sometimes used a white gel pen on dark cardstock. The skunk is created using the Foxy Friends stamp set and its coordinating Fox Builder Punch. Isn't he cute? I think I like him even more than the fox that the stamp was intended for! I think you can see even from this picture that his head is lifted with Stampin' Dimensionals. The...

Looking Happy

I saw a similar card on someone's blog and adapted it, using remnants of Designer Series Paper. Although this Real Red polka-dotted paper is from a couple years ago, there are dots on paper in our paper stacks for each family that would work just as well. In a sense, this card is punch art since the strawberry used the Sweetheart punch and one of the Itty Bitty Accents punches. The 1¾" Circle punch and the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch provided the base for the strawberry. Products Used: Crazy About You stamp set (33), W 138856, $52.00; C 138859, $39.00; P 137137, $25.00 Sahara Sand 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 121043, $7.00 Real Red 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 102482, $7.00 Old Olive 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 100702, $7.00 Whisper White 8½" x 11" cardstock (40), 100730, $8.50 Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad, 126949, $6.50 Sweetheart Punch, 133786, $16.00 Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (3), 133787, $17.00 1-3/4" Circle...

Olaf Bounces on Card Front

Image
What is it about princesses that every little girl loves? Then bring on a movie like Frozen with all its imaginative characters, its icy fantasies and the beloved snowman, Olaf, who falls apart and puts himself back together again. What fun. So, for her third birthday, I just had to give my granddaughter, Karis, a card with Olaf adorning the front. although I gave that one away, I proceeded to make another for my January card class. Somewhat labor intensive, yet it was a labor of love.  And here's a picture of my sweet little granddaughter. Her card had a happy birthday banner in Olaf's "hand". Products Used for the Olaf card: (no stamps) Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Basic Gray 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 121044, $6.95 Pumpkin Pie 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 105117, $6.95 Soft Suede 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 115318, $6.95 Basic Black 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 121045, $6.95 Basic ...

Adorable Penguin

What a delight to find this little guy in my mailbox this afternoon! Missy Shipman (my upline's upline) sent me this card for being one of the top 10 sellers on the Glad Heart Stampers Team during the month of October (yes, she's a little behind). The ribbon around his neck extends past the edges of the card and I chopped them off when I scanned the card. It is also ribbon from last year's catalog, so it is not current. Note: there isn't one stamp used on this card! Everything is punched out and assembled to create this adorable image! Here is a list of the products I believe Missy used to create this card: Marina Mist card stock, 119682, $6.95 for 24 sheets, 8-1/2" x 11" Tangerine Tango card stock, 113349, $6.95 for 24 sheets, 8-1/2" x 11" Basic Black card stock 121045, $6.95 for 24 sheets, 8-1/2" x 11" Whisper White card stock, 100730, $8.50 for 40 sheets, 8-1/2" x 11" Top Note Bigz Die, 113463, $21.95 Big Shot Die-Cutting Ma...

Punch Happy!

Image
I had fun playing with my new toys this morning! I started by semi-copying a card designed by Rebecca Franks and published in the February issue of Stampin Success, a magazine sent to all Stampin' Up! demonstrators (a good reason to become a demonstrator!). But I just had to use the new Scallop Trim Border punch (free from the Sale-a-Bration catalog with a $50 expenditure) and the coordinating Scallop Trim Corner punch (Occasions Mini Catalog, 118870, $9.95). The heart is cut and embossed with the new Embosslits Die, also found in the Occasions Mini Catalog (117332, $11.95). Do you recognize the ornament stamp and punch from the Holiday Mini Catalog? Used sideways, it makes a great fish body. Punch one piece of coordinating card stock for each fish (I used Soft Suede) with our Scallop Circle punch and cut it apart to use for the fish's fins. The eyes are punched with the 1/2" circle punch and the 1/4 inch circle punch, which I fear has been retired. However, a stand...

Punch Art Workshop

Image
I'm offering an open house workshop in Canandaigua Monday evening, June 1, with a small fee of $5. Stampers can come and go any time between the hours of 7 and 9 PM, although I suggest beginning stampers allow themselves an hour to complete the cards. Participants need to RSVP by May 26 so I am adequately prepared. The following card is one sample of the cards we will make that evening.

Punch Art Tea Cups

Image
I'm back from our trip to Ohio where I thoroughly enjoyed time with old friends! I need a thank you note (several, actually) and decided to play with punches. I had taken sample cards with me to show to my old stamping friends, who raved over one of the cards utilizing punch art, so my enthusiasm for technique was rekindled! I made the tea cups below with both the tag and small tag punches and the small and large oval punches. I also used the Boho Blossoms punch for the white flower decorating the cup. The eyelet border was made with one of our newest punches. I used up some old designer paper with the bashful blue and whisper white card stock. Finally, I experimented with my ribbon and like the way it turned out as well as the ease with which it went together. I cut my bashful blue grosgrain ribbon about 6-1/2 inches. Before tying the knot in the middle, I inserted a small piece of the ribbon and tied the knot around it. Then I fastened the ends under the whisper white car...
