Peaceful Poinsettia stampset and Detailed Pointsettia Thinlits Bundle

I love the poinsettia yet found myself reluctant to order the poinsettia bundle in the Holiday Catalog  because I have so many Christmas sets that have been discontinued. I finally gave in and have had so much fun creating with it!

Because of the shape and size of the corner thinlit, there aren't too many options for card fronts when using the corner piece. The variety, I think, comes from what you place behind it. Below are two variations of the same format.




The first card is done in Whisper White with Copper foil behind the cut-outs and Copper Stampin' Emboss powder for the greeting. Unwilling to waste the boughs cut from the Whisper White card stock, I simply added them on the card front for added texture.

The thinlits include an open frame for the poinsettia as well as an intricate thinlit.  In order to achieve the large poinsettia, you need to use both. The intricate piece fits nicely inside the open framelit so you can run them both through the Big Shot at the same time. But be sure you use our Adhesive Sheets behind the flower before cutting it out! Much easier to adhere to the front of your card.

Call Me Clover cardstock backs the second card. I used Lovely Lipstick ink for the greeting and Lovely Lipstick cardstock for the flower. I think these are my favorite colors in the new collections and I'm only bummed that, since they are In Colors, they will only last for two years. I also have the Lovely Lipstick blends, which worked for coloring the Clear RhinestoneBasic Jewels.

You Mean Everything to Me

As much as I prefer scanning my cards over photographing them, I find there are some disadvantages. My little banner that is stamped with "you mean everything to me" loses the 3D look as it gets flattened by the cover of the scanner. Kyla and I were just playing around with ideas while she was visiting (did I mention, she's my new recruit?) and this was one of the cards I designed. Gathering the ribbon slightly, cutting out the heart image and folding and trimming the "banner" across the heart meant a little extra fussing, but I really like the result. When I was all finished with the card, I decided to add a little sparkle by spraying it with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. If you look closely, you can see some of the sparkle that added to the card, including the ribbon. When you actually hold it in your hands, you can see the glittery shimmer much more easily. More Quilt Cards

The Christmas Quilt bundle has so much versatility! I'm still using the Blooms & Bliss designer paper from last year's catalog as I design these cards. Today's post uses different designs from the pack from Saturday's post. Once again you can see the variety acquired using the same papers. Easter Daffodils

"You're Inspiring" stamp set is perfect for Easter or Mother's Day or sympathy or almost any occasion. With Easter approaching, that holiday was the obvious choice. This card uses two Sale-a-Bration items as well as the "You're Inspiring" stamp set from the Occasions Catalog: the Basket Weave embossing folder and the Springtime Foils Specialty dsp. And of course I used the Stampin' Blends! I'm wondering if I'll ever use my markers, now that I have experienced the 3D effects of our blends that also allow me to color with no streaks. Unless you have the Springtime Foils dsp, you may not realize that the leaves on this sheet are not green.  You can color this glossy paper with metallic designs using your Stampin' Blends, which is what I did here.
