Rich Razzleberry Remarkable Flower

Looking for stamp sets for use with my watercolor pencils, I found I had very few suitable sets. However, the Remarkable You set works well and I haven't used it as much as I should. I am finding I like it remarkably more than I thought. It just takes using those stamp sets. I would suggest you look through your sets and find one you never use and force yourself to design with it. There was a reason you bought that stamp set in the first place.

Anyway, this watercolor technique involved wetting the paper first. Now, before I watched the video instructions, I thought that meant dipping the paper. On the contrary, we merely used the Aqua Painter to wet the section we planed to color (I did this for just one petal or leaf at a time) and then colored with the watercolor pencil. Made the colors remarkably vivid! I think this is one of my favorite cards. Oh, you need to color only part of your image and then pull the color to the outside edges to give the shaded effect. You can probably tell that I fussy cut the flower out and attached it with Stampin' Dimensionals. I hate to admit it, but this ribbon is also discontinued.

You Mean Everything to Me

As much as I prefer scanning my cards over photographing them, I find there are some disadvantages. My little banner that is stamped with "you mean everything to me" loses the 3D look as it gets flattened by the cover of the scanner. Kyla and I were just playing around with ideas while she was visiting (did I mention, she's my new recruit?) and this was one of the cards I designed. Gathering the ribbon slightly, cutting out the heart image and folding and trimming the "banner" across the heart meant a little extra fussing, but I really like the result. When I was all finished with the card, I decided to add a little sparkle by spraying it with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. If you look closely, you can see some of the sparkle that added to the card, including the ribbon. When you actually hold it in your hands, you can see the glittery shimmer much more easily. The Christmas Quilt bundle has so much versatility! I'm still using the Blooms & Bliss designer paper from last year's catalog as I design these cards. Today's post uses different designs from the pack from Saturday's post. Once again you can see the variety acquired using the same papers. Easter Daffodils

"You're Inspiring" stamp set is perfect for Easter or Mother's Day or sympathy or almost any occasion. With Easter approaching, that holiday was the obvious choice. This card uses two Sale-a-Bration items as well as the "You're Inspiring" stamp set from the Occasions Catalog: the Basket Weave embossing folder and the Springtime Foils Specialty dsp. And of course I used the Stampin' Blends! I'm wondering if I'll ever use my markers, now that I have experienced the 3D effects of our blends that also allow me to color with no streaks. Unless you have the Springtime Foils dsp, you may not realize that the leaves on this sheet are not green.  You can color this glossy paper with metallic designs using your Stampin' Blends, which is what I did here.
