Pink and Gray

Image
Leftovers are such great inspirations! When cutting out the rose from a Pink Pirouette card, I had the intricate details left over plus one set of leaves from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. After playing with them in my mind for a while, an knowing I want to use as much dsp as possible, this is what I came up with. I love it! I could always add a Teeny Tiny Wish along the top edge of Pink Pirouette or just keep my greeting inside or simply use this as a note card. Products Used: Pink Pirouette 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 111351, $7.00 Smoky Slate 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 131202, $7.00 Dazzling Diamonds 12" x 12" Glimmer Paper (2), 135315, $5.00 Neutrals Color Collection 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper Stack (40), 138435, $22.00 Rhinestone Basic Jewels (150), 119246, $5.00

Flower Shop

Image
I was in the mood to make a card with Rose Red but couldn't find any current designer series paper in my supply to use with it. So I pulled out the discontinued Painted Blooms dsp and chose a side  I never thought I'd use. I figured the dots were a fun style rather than elegant or pretty, so I needed a stamp set that fit the mood. Flower Shop worked! The coordinating punch helped me achieve the effect I wanted. And I'm loving the font on the Cottage Greetings stamp set, which I've used on the Whisper White banner. Products Used: Flower Shop stamp set (6), W 130939, $24.00; C 130942, $18.00 Cottage Greetings stamp set (12), W 138940, $26.00; C 139962, $16.00 Rose Red 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 102544, $7.00 Whisper White 8½" x 11" cardstock (40), 100730, $8.50 Rose Red Classic Stampin' Pad, 126954, $6.50 (Sequins are leftover from the Cottage Greetings Card Kit (138377, $16.00) Pansy punch, 130698, $16.00 Banner Triple punch, 138292 $23

Look Who's Turning 7

Image
As I was cutting designer series paper for my recent stamp class, I decided to put a couple scraps together  on the front of my card. However, they weren't quite large enough to meet in the middle, so I added a piece of coordinating lace. I love the way it turned out! Of course, I was still using the Number of Years stamp set, but neither of my granddaughters have birthdays coming for quite a few months, so I decided to make one they could use for a friend's birthday party. Since Kyah is now 6 and some of her friends are turning 7, I decided to use that number for this card. Incidentally, the two pieces of dsp are actually the reverse sides of the same piece from the Birthday Bouquet designs. All our designer paper is two sided and they coordinate so well! Products Used: Number of Years photopolymer stamp set (29), 140653, $27.00 Large Numbers Framelits Dies (11), 140622, $31.00      Bundle and save: 140811, $49.25 Honeycomb Happiness stamp set (6), W 141288; C 14129

Large Numbers in Background

Image
Playing around with the Number of Years stamp set, I decided to try color-on-color for a background on my card. Remembering how much I always liked the Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo color combination, I chose my colors accordingly. Products Used: Number of Years photopolymer stamp set (29), 140653, $27.00 Large Numbers Framelits Dies (11), 140622, $31.00      Bundle and save: 140811, $49.25 Daffodil Delight 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 119683, $7.00 Melon Mambo 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 115320, $7.00 Whisper White 8½" x 11" cardstock (40), 100730, $8.50 Melon Mambo Classic Stampin' Pad, 126948, $6.50 Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad, 126953, $6.50 Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad, 126944, $6.50 Marina Mist Classic Stampin' Pad, 126962, $6.50

Happy Birthday Bouquet

Image
The Number of Years stamp set is great for cards even when not using a number. I wanted to include a card made with that set for my last class and I love the way it paired with the Birthday Bouquet designer series paper. Add a piece of Watermelon Wonder ribbon and the card just popped. I gave my attendees an option for their designer paper from the pack and both look great. I decided to share both here so you can see the different effects.  As you can see, the cards are identical, except for which sheet of dsp from the Birthday Bouquet pack was used. Products Used: Number of Years stamp set (29 photopolymer stamps), 140653, $27.00 Large Numbers Framelits Dies (11), 140622, $31.00       Bundle the stamps and framelits: 140622, $31.00 Whisper White 8½" x 11" cardstock (40), 100730, $8.50 Watermelon Wonder 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 138334, $7.00 Birthday Bouquet 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 140557, $11.00 Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin

More Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper

Image
I think this is one of my all-time favorite cards! I love the way the papers in this the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack coordinate. It's almost like piecing fabric for quilts! In fact, the print on black reminds me of a blouse I made in High School Home Economics (I guess that dates me!). I haven't used the Watercolor Wings stamp set in quite a while, in spite of my love for everything butterflies. The greeting and little flowers come from the Cottage Greetings stamp set which has great fonts for all the words included in the set. Products Used: Cottage Greetings stamp set (12), W 138940, $26.00; C 139962, $16.00 Watercolor Wings photopolymer stamp set (15), 139424, $26.00 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" cardstock (40), 101650, $8.50 Calypso Coral 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 122925, $7.00 Pretty Petals 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Stack (48), 138442, $8.00 Calypso Coral Classic Stampin' Pad, 126983, $6.50 Archival Basic Black Stampin

Pretty Petals DSP

Image
When my demonstrator's magazine arrived, I decided I really liked one of the designs. So I altered it a bit and this is what I came up with. I've since come up with several other variations in my mind—I just need to make them. This card uses our Washi Tape punch (138296, $18.00) and paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack (138442, $8.00). Notice how I've alternated light and dark designs. The sequins are leftover from the Cottage Greetings Card Kit. I am amazed how many extras were included in the kit. This paper stack (48 6"x6" sheets) is one of the few where I like every single print in the stack. There is often at least one print that I don't like. Thankfully they are double-sided so there's always another to choose from. Since Pacific Point is the dominant color in the papers I chose to punch, I've added a layer of Pacific Point cardstock and coordinating ribbon (138427, $9.00 for 10 yards). Very Vanilla is the neutral. Thi

Different Colors

Image
It seems I am always using Whisper White or Very Vanilla for my neutral colors when stamping cards. This time, I decided I needed to use Sahara Sand, a color I use very seldom. I mixed it with Blackberry Bliss, one of my very favorite colors - and we're going to lose it from our collection the end of May when these In Colors go out. The stamp set is a three-step photopolymer set from our Sale-a-Bration catalog, which expires March 31st. I put some Dazzling Details on the center of the flower and, what you can't see, some Wink of Stella outlining the petals. Products Used : What I Love SAB photopolymer stamp set (10), 141276, free with $50 purchase Sahara Sand 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 121043, $7.00 Blackberry Bliss 8½" x 11" cardstock (24), 133675, $7.00 Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pad, 126976, $6.50 Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin' Pad, 133642, $6.50 Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad, 133645, $6.50 Blackberry Bliss ribbon from last

A Touch of Elegance

Image
Last fall I designed a card using the ballerina inside a snow globe. A friend decided she wanted to learn how to make that card, but our schedules never matched up. She ordered the stamp set and then came to one of my classes, a class where, for the first time ever, I featured a retired stamp set just so she could learn how to make the card. Once again, I had extra pre-cuts available and so I gave the card an entirely new look. I've had fun playing with the Rose Wonder stamp set and coordinating Thinlits Dies. Of course, the Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon is discontinued... To make this card, I cut the rose and stem from the 3¾" x 5" Pink Pirouette cardstock and from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I adhered the open piece of Pink Pirouette CS over the 4" x 5¼" Elegant Eggplant CS, wrapped the ribbon around that and added the layered greeting using Stampin' Dimensionals. I then inserted the pieces cut from the Glimmer Paper (I now have the Pink Pirou

A Simple Wildflower Card

Image
Sometimes a little simplicity is all we need for a great card! This is another card featuring the Wildflower Fields dsp and Flowering Fields stamp set. Easter Lamb

Image
This little lamb is so sweet! I actually took my craft and rubber scissors and cut the stamp apart so it would be easier to stamp the lamb and the Easter greeting separately. I've used some retired buttons on this card, but we have other buttons in our current catalog that would work just as well. I love that our Framelits Dies allow easy layering, as in the circles used here. And the new Banner Triple Punch makes dovetailing the ends of "banners" so easy!  What you probably can't see very well in my scanned copy of this card is the Wink of Stella I used in all the dots making up the lamb's woolly coat. I'm also in love with the new Archival Stampin' Pads in Basic Black and Gray! Can water color with them, the ink is vivid and yet it dries quickly. No need for any of the other black inks! Products Used:  Easter Lamb stamp (1), W 140740, $10.00 Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Clear, 141897, $8.00 Whisper White 8½" x 11" cardstock (40), 10
