Introducing This & That Product Line

Another Fabric Project

Image
Remember the Fabric Frenzy that lasts for three more days, counting today. The video I posted a few days ago has ideas that don't require sewing. Here are the owls I made with the Spice Cake fabric design to decorate my granddaughter's bedroom. Spice Cake Flawless Fabric, 124066, $9.95 now half price ($4.98) Includes 3 extra-wide fat quarters

Using our Fabric

Image
The pattern I used for this book (it will be my granddaughter's birthday present next January) was for a Kindle cover, but I adapted it to hold a drawing pad and colored pencils. I chose to use Summer Smooches fat quarters (125411). Although its full price is $9.95, you can order it this week, while supplies last, for half price - $4.98. I may re-post two other projects made with our fabric.

Fabric Frenzy

Check out this great special that is good for just one week! You can purchase our fabric fat quarters at 50% of the regular price while supplies last.

Using those scraps

Image
When going through odds and ends I've collected, I found a number of pre-cut designer series paper from the retired in-color paper stack. Although this is retired (and the Concord Crush was my very favorite color), you could accomplish the same thing with the Regals Collection paper stack. I used blender pens to "paint" my chair and the basket of flowers and the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add texture to the top of the card. The stamp set is Cherish Friendship. Products Used : Cherish Friendship stamp set (3), W 12880, $17.95; C 122882, $13.95 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 101650, $8.50 Substitute Regals Collection 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper Stack (40), 117154, $21.95 Blender Pens (3), 102845, $9.95 Various classic ink pads, $5.95 each (Soft Suede 126978, Crumb Cake 126975, Always Artichoke 126972, Concord Crush - Substitute Elegant Eggplant 126969, Raspberry Ripple 126859, Summer Starfruit 126991)

Last Day of Sale-a-Bration

Image
Since the is the last day of Sale-a-Bration, I decided to post a card made with the Feeling Sentimental stamp set available for free with a $50 purchase. You have until midnight tonight to place an order and receive your free products for every $50 you spend. I always need birthday cards but seldom have any that are suitable for men. So I decided to use a Sale-a-Bration stamp set along with some retired designer series paper (this is Poppy Parade from a previous year's In Color Designer Series Paper Stack, designs of which remain the same in our current paper stacks, so you could duplicate this card in another color). The card itself is Naturals Ivory card stock and I used Staz-On ink to stamp the telephone booth before "painting" with a blender pen and Poppy Parade classic ink. I think the Basic Black behind the Ivory made the image and greeting pop. The brads are leftover from last year's Sale-a-Bration.

Our Finger Lakes Community Bible Study is losing a member of Leadership Council because her husband's job is moving them away. So I was "commissioned" to make a large card to pass around and write messages in. I used the retired Concord Crush paper and some designer series paper from a couple summers ago. And, once again, I used those Secret Garden stamps and framelits! Just can't avoid them lately! I was originally going to use the image of a chair with basket of flowers from the Cherish Friendship stamp set. I even spent a long time painting it and the flowers with my blender pens. I envisioned that as the centerpiece of the card with the flowers surrounding it and chose my flowers accordingly. I think I should have put the denser flowers on the bottom with the Concord Crush daisy-like flowers above, but it's done now. My other colors are Raspberry Ripple and Always Artichoke, along with Very Vanilla.

Easter Basket

Image
We made this basket at my Quick Easter Class Thursday evening. It is made from one sheet of card stock using the Ovals Collection of Framelits Dies. I just love it! I learned how to make this from Connie Stewart's blog. There is a box between the two scalloped ovals made with the scoring tool and sticky strip. Of course, there's no reason why this basket has to be exclusively for Easter. Fill it with dry or paper flowers for a May Day or Mother's Day basket or simply a summer decoration. Products Used: Certainly Celery 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 105125, $6.95 Twitterpated 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 125406, $10.95 Pink Pirouette/Rose Red Two-Tone Ribbon (5 yards), 129294, $6.95 Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Sale-a-Bration, free with $50 purchase Sticky Strip (10 yards), 104294, $6.95 Simply Scored Scoring Tool, 122334, $29.95

Fun New Technique

Image
I CASEd this card from Connie Stewart and then taught the technique at my class Thursday night. A small group, but we had great fun. It looks like we laid five strips of Delicate Details Lace Tape vertically on the card. Nope. We used two strips at a time so we could sponge over them with sponge daubers. Since the tape is vinyl-like, you can even wipe it clean with a damp paper towel. And it's repositional! We merely sponged over each strip, pulled it up and moved it over to sponge again. Oh, the ribbon is from the Sale-a-Bration brochure and there's only one more week to be able to earn these items. Products Used : Friendly Phrases stamp set (6), W 126149, $18.95; C 126151, $14.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Pool Party 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 122924, $6.95 Island Indigo 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 122923, $6.95 Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad, 126982, $5.95 Island Indigo Classic Stampin' Pad, 126986

Happy Easter!

Image
I am sharing one of the cards we are making at my class tomorrow evening. I promised we would use products from the spring catalog as well as the Sale-a-Bration brochure. This one features the Secret Garden Bundle (stamp set plus coordinating framelits). I love the way it turned out. I have to admit I only bought this stamp set because of the framelits since I so often cut out my flowers. But I'm still cutting out the centers to pop them up with dimensionals. Products Used: Secret Garden Bundle (7 stamps, 6 framelits), W 131100, $42.95; C 131099, $36.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Daffodil Delight 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 119683, $6.95 Old Olive 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 100702, $6.95 Pumpkin Pie 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 105117, $6.95 Floral District 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 126919, $10.95 Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad, 126944, $5.95 Old Olive Classic Stampin'

Miss that Pale Plum!

Image
Using up the old and gorgeous! Even found some 12" x 12" sheets of Pale Plum textured card stock for making my flowers to coordinate with the designer series paper. Stamped the flowers from the new Secret Garden stamp set with Perfect Plum ink on that old card stock and then cut them out with the Secret Garden Framelits. Certainly Celery taffeta ribbon is still available, as is the Perfect Plum ink and card stock. And the "happy birthday" is part of the Bitty Banners stamp set and is cut out with the coordinating Bitty Banners framelits.

Comfort Cafe Sympathy

Image
Another sympathy card. Is it my age that I need so many? Or is it a season?  Anyway, I used designer series paper, framelits and a border punch to form the elements in this card.  I fear the Very Vanilla Jumbo Brads are discontinued, however. Everything else is current. Products Used: Thoughts & Prayers stamp set (8), W 113252, $25.95; C 127805, $18.95 Tiny Tags stamp set (17), W 118091, $22.95' C 118592, $16.95 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 101650, $8.50 Midnight Muse 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 126843, $6.95 First Edition 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (24), 121878, $12.95 Comfort Cafe 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 126898, $10.95 Midnight Muse Classic Stampin' Pad, 126860, $5.95 Scallop Edge Border punch, 119882, $15.95 Apothecary Accents Framelits (5), 127003, $24.95 Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, 113439, $99.95

Mixing the Old with the New

Image
It seems I am always in need of sympathy cards. I love the way this one turned out. I actually have made it a goal to use up some of my scraps that are laying around my workroom, some in bags, some just laying out. I had already embossed the edge of this card and trimmed a scrap of dsp from the retired in-color paper stack (Blushing Bride). The flowers are from the spring catalog. I really didn't think I needed another flower stamp set, but this one comes with a coordinating set of framelits. Since I often cut out my flowers, I decided this would be a real benefit for me.  Two of the flowers are stamped with Riding Hood Red classic ink on Blush Blossom card stock while the other one is stamped with Blush Blossom classic ink on Whisper White. I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the enters of two of the flowers and covered the Blush Blossom ink with Crystal Effects. I love the way this card turned out. Products Used: Secret Garden stamp set (7), W 129141, $25.95; C 129144, $18.

More Patterned Occasions

Image
Here are two more cards made with the Patterned Occasions stamp set available from the Sale-a-Bration brochure for absolutely free. These products cannot be purchased, but you can choose one set of stamps, designer series paper, ribbons & buttons, punch, etc. with every $50 you spend. The texture on these two card is simply punched out shapes aligned on the front of the card. Adds so much to the card and is so simple to do. Remember, you can only acquire these products through March 22nd.
Image
Well, I never made my way to the computer yesterday to upload more samples of cards made with Sale-a-Bration products. But I'm here today with three more. You have just over two weeks to place your orders and earn free Sale-a-Bration products, one for every $50 you spend. These cards feature the Patterned Occasions stamp set. A couple are shown in an unusual way since the ribbons extend beyond the edges of the cards. The ribbon on the above card is from the seasonal catalog and comes in Marina Mist and Old Olive as well as the Melon Mambo (shown). Isn't the clothes hanger clip cute? It is also from the spring catalog and is part of the "Hung Up" Cute Clips set. The Tangerine Tango ribbon and button and dsp are all Sale-a-Bration products.

Pretty Petites for Sale-a-Bration

Image
The cards I'm sharing with you today feature the Pretty Petites stamp set as well as the Petite Curly Label Punch. But you'll also find more than just those Sale-a-Bration items on these cards. The first card uses a flower from the Flower Trim in the seasonal catalog as well as the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from the same catalog (that's the 4½" x 6½" double sided pad of dsp). So pretty. This second card uses one of the buttons from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack and the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, both from the Sale-a-Bration promotion as well.  And the uniquely shaped clip holding the "hello" is from the pack of Hung Up Cute Clips, seasonal catalog. The dsp on these last two cards is from the Sale-a-Bration pack of Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper. Don't forget: Sale-a-Bration ends March 22nd, so be sure to place your order before then if you want any of these great products! I'l

Praying for You

Image
I often provide cards for groups to write notes inside, usually my Adult Bible Fellowship, aka adult Sunday School, or my Community Bible Study core group. I put this one together last night for a very special lady in our ABF who has been battling cancer for years and is now on another round of chemo. I used designer paper from our Regals Paper Stack (Riding Hood Red) and coordinated everything with that. These cards that are signed by many are made with one full sheet of card stock folded in half so the final card is 5½" x 8½". The scanned image of this card doesn't do the flower justice. I rubbed the "bloom" across my ink pad to color it so it would show up against the Very Vanilla heart. I love the way it looks more like a cream rose with the edges colored. Products Used: Praying Hands stamp (1), W 122043, $7.95 Thoughts & Prayers stamp set (8), W 113252, $25.95; C 127805, $18.95 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 101650, $8.50 Ri

Bloomin' Marvelous

Image
Here are two samples of cards made with the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set available only through the Sale-a-Bration Brochure. Remember, those products cannot be purchased. You make your number of choices based on how much you spend on other products.  These cards also use flowers cut from the Flower Trim in the current seasonal catalog (page 4). They add so much dimension yet are soft enough to flatten out during mailing so you don't have to pay extra postage for a thicker envelope. The Primrose Petals designer paper is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack, also sold in the seasonal catalog (page 16). This stack is unique for Stampin' Up! because each of the 48 sheets is only 4½" x 6½", allowing you to acquire a variety of designer series paper for less money ($6.95).

More Madison Avenue

Image
Looking for more samples of Sale-a-Bration products? I'm going to try to keep them coming for you. Two of these cards include the some of the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper, available only as a free item when you spend $50 on regular products.  The same cards have buttons and ribbon from the Sale-a-Bration brochure. The other card (top one) includes items in our current seasonal catalog. Hope they inspire you! Once again, these are Aly Schilling's designs. We demonstrators gathered together to make a stack of Sale-a-Bration cards so we would have plenty of samples to show our customers without having to acquire all the products in the brochure.
