Two-Tone Triple Layer Card

Image
Since I had an extra set of pre-cuts from my class, I decided to vary the original design and see how this technique looks when not monochromatic. I like the result. I'm gradually replacing my ink pads so that I can have the new, juicier style pads. I think they work so much better when stamping over multiple layers like this. Check my earlier post for the how-to of this technique. Card Box and Card

Image
At my recent card class we made this card box to hold the five cards we made, although only one coordinated with the box. I've previously posted the other four cards. The nice thing about this box is that it is made with a piece of 8½" x 11" card stock, although we cut the length to 10¼". Here it is with cards inside. The box is Rich Razzleberry with a piece of Floral District dsp on the front. This is the coordinating card that you see inside the box. Amazing how different the colors look on my scanned card! But it is the same paper. Actually, the card is the same card we demonstrators made at our recent stamp fest with just a slight change (I also learned how to make the box at the stamp fest). At the time of my class, I did not have the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set that fit with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, so I simply used the greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and cut it with one bitty banner and mounted it on the larger one. I've since rec

Using those Scraps with Tea Shoppe Stamp Set

Image
If you have been following my blog, you probably recognize elements of this card from a previous post. Once class was over, I had some leftover half-inch strips of Twitterpated dsp and an extra piece of Blushing Bride card stock so I decided to make something different (and less time-consuming). I love the Tea Shoppe stamp set and haven't used it anywhere near enough, so I was happy to use it with my scraps. The three teacups are one stamp, so I used markers to color it first. The pleated ribbon and the Blushing Bride card stock are discontinued, I fear.

Soft Papaya Collage Card

Image
For some reason, when using stamp sets with frames, I seem to need to cut them out. So time-consuming! So when I designed this card, I wanted to find a way around that. I simply stamped it to one side of a slightly larger piece of paper, in this case dsp from the Neutrals Collection Paper Stack. The rose is probably the main reason I purchased this stamp set. And I think the butterfly works very well with the new Elegant Butterfly punch. This card was another favorite at my recent stamp class. Products Used: Papaya Collage stamp set (7), W 126610, $31.95; C 126612, $23.95 Elements of Style stamp set (5), W 118611, $27.95; C 120045, $19.95 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 101650, $8.50 Gumball Green 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 126840, $5.95 Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks (40 sheets, 12" x 12"), 117157, $21.95 Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad, 126974, $5.95 Gumball Green Classic Stampin' Pad, 126861, $5.95 2012-2014 In Colo

You Are Loved

Image
As I looked at stamp sets to use with the Comfort Cafe designer series paper, I was surprised to find that the flowers in the You Are Loved stamp set coordinated so well. I then decided to copy the colors in the dsp, using my Stampin' Write Markers to color the stamp before applying to my card stock. Once I had all the pieces together, I thought the card needed a little something extra and added texture with my Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This card turned out to be one of the favorites at my card class last night. Products Used: You Are Loved stamp set, W 123777, $31.95; C 123779, $23.95 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 101650, $8.50 Midnight Muse 8½"x 11" card stock (24), 126843, $6.95 Midnight Muse Classic Stampin' Pad, 126860, $5.95 Comfort Cafe 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 126898, $10.95 2012-14 In Color Stampin' Write Markers (5), 126856, $14.95 2011-13 In Color Stampin' Write Markers (5), 12300

Triple Layers

Image
One of the techniques we are learning at my stamp class tonight is shown on the cards below. The Night of Navy layers is my first attempt at the technique and I decided I really like it, although the newly designed ink pads are juicier and work better. Since the class features new products, I couldn't use old colors and old stamps (well, I could have, but it would not have been appropriate). So, instead of using Day of Gratitude stamp set, I chose the largest flower from the Everything Eleanor stamp set and Primrose Petals, one of the new in colors. I wish I had ordered the coordinating ribbon, but the Whisper White satin ribbon (discontinued) works just fine. I learned this technique from Dawn Olchefske's blog and thank her for the training video. We merely line up the three pieces of neutral card stock (in this case, Whisper White), using a little temporary adhesive between layers. She suggested using the snail adhesive and rubbing it slightly so it wouldn't be quite so s

Weave It!

Image
I was thrilled when I discovered the Twitterpated designer series paper would be carried over into the 2012-13 Core Catalog albeit without the Blushing Bride of Pear Pizzazz card stock, so I stocked up on some of those colors. I used the Blushing Bride for the scalloped border on this card, but you could always use the Baja Breeze or Riding Hood Red. I plan to make this card at my upcoming card class June 21st. We will weave the half-inch strips of Twitterpated dsp and mount it on a piece of Blushing Bride card stock trimmed with one of the Adorning Accents Edgelits and dry embossed with one of the Adorning Accents folders. After using two of the stamps from Daydream Medallions, I "cut" them out with the new Floral Frames Framelits, using Stampin' Dimensionals between layers. The button is also left over from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Of course, you could always substitute the button with an Antique Brad... Products Used: Daydream Medallions stamp set (5), W 126465, $36

Floral Eleanor

Image
I love the flowers in the "Everything Eleanor" stamp set! This card is probably not the most creative of my cards, although I think it is a clean and simple design. I used two of the new in colors when stamping this card. After stamping the blossoms, I cut them out and popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals. If you look closely, you'll see that I used my Summer Starfruit marker for the center and stamens. I was wishing I had the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set, but the greeting from the Create a Cupcake stamp set fit perfectly in the framelit from the Bitty Banners set. I also used one of the verses from that set for the inside of my card. I can never have enough birthday cards! Products Used: Everything Eleanor stamp set (8), W 124162, $36.95; C 124164, $26.95 Create a Cupcake stamp set (12), W 121915, $22.95; C 121981, $16.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Primrose Petals 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 126841, $6.95 Primrose P

International Bazaar

Image
Here are two more cards made with stamp sets and other supplies which I do not have. I didn't think I would ever use the World Treasures stamp set and so I didn't order it. However, we used this set at our demonstrator team's stamp fest (my upline is Aly Schilling, who designed these cards) and I really like the results. The background on this first card is created with the Alhambra jumbo wheel. Both cards use the International Bazaar Designer Series Paper from the suite of products by the same name. The blue spatters on the background of this card were created with a new technique (new to me, anyway): Add a drop of ink to the tip of a paintbrush, dip in water and flick it over the card front. It is great to have the opportunity to share projects from the new catalog even though I don't possess the products used. The catalog is not even two weeks old, so I have a whole year to keep purchasing all the things I want. One of those items is the Fancy Fan Textured Impressio

Patio Party

Image
Saturday was a stamp fest with my demonstrator team. It was great because I don't have all the new sets or designer series paper that were available on pre-order. These are two of the cards we made using the Patio Party Designer Series Paper (126916) with Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse and Primrose Petals card stocks. Sorry I didn't notice how little of two edges of the first card was missed when I scanned it. However, it does have a Crumb Cake border on the left and top edges as well. Stamp Sets Used: Itty Bitty Banners (6), W 126255, $15.95; C 126257, $11.95 Elements of Style (5), W 118611, $27.95; C 120045, $19.95 Make a Cake (7), W 126740, $14.95; C 1216742, $11.95 Big Shot Bitty Banners Framelits (3), 129267, $14.95

Betsy's Blossom in a Jar?

Image
When I started designing this card and decided to use this Apothecary Accent Framelit, I had no idea how much it would look like there was a blossom in a jar! Except for the leaves, of course. I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but I cut out two extra layers in the flower and popped them up with dimensionals. Products Used: Betsy's Blossoms Stamp Set (6), W 126004, $28.95; C126006, $21.95 Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set (24), W 115370, $36.95; C 127802, $26.95 Lucky Limeade 8½" x 11" Card Stock (24), 122926, $6.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" Card Stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Floral District 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 126919, $10.95 Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, 126950, $5.95 Lucky Limeade Classic Stampin' Pad, 126984, $5.95 Rhinestone Basic Jewels (150), 119246, $4.95 Apothecary Accents Framelits, 127003, $24.95 Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, 113439, $99.95 Stampin' Dimensionals (300), 104430, $3.95

A Fun Thank You Note

Image
One of the suites I qualified for as a demonstrator discount was Floral District. In all honesty, it probably would not have been my first choice in new product, but I am enjoying using it. This card uses both the Floral District dsp and Betsy's Blossoms stamp set. And I am loving the new Apothecary Accents Framelits, two of which I've used on this card. Products Used: Betsy's Blossoms Stamp Set (6), W 126004, $28.95; C 126006, $21.95 Floral District 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 126919, $10.95 Baja Breeze 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 111352, $6.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Baja Breeze Classic Stampin' Pad, 126960, $5.95 Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, 126950, $5.95 Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker, 119677, $3.50 Baja Breeze Stampin' Write Marker from Subtles Collection pack (10), 119700, $28.95 Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (10 yards), 109070, $6.95 Rhinestone Basic Jewel
