Paisley Petals Exposed

I've been having fun with the different moods contained in the pack of Paisley Petals designer series paper. When I looked at this sheet with its delicate flowers, I wanted to use it without covering it up with much. Although it's still a background paper, its beauty is not obliterated or even overshadowed by the rest of the design. At least I don't think so.

Just a reminder: this paper is part of the special April promotion, although it will be available in the new Idea Book & Catalog that comes out July 1. The designer series paper sells for $9.95 with a purchase of $20 or more. With that same purchase, you can also order the Four Frames Stamp Set. OR earn both as extra hostess benefits when you close a workshop with $350 in total sales by April 30.

Petal Prints Preview

April 30th is just around the corner when the preview promotion ends. This is another sample made with Petal Prints designer paper, which will be available in the new Idea Book & Catalog in July or which can be purchased now when you spend $20. Or host a $350 workshop to get both for free!I made this card, designed by April Waite, at our April team meeting. The only stamp on this card is from the Four Frames set. My set is on back order but I hope to have it within the next week. We also used one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and added tiny pearls for the flower centers. I opted to wait to add my greeting rather than use a Mother's Day greeting.

Paisley Petals Preview

For the month of April, customers may purchase the Paisley Petals designer series paper, which will not be available again until the new Idea Book & Catalog in July. Although the special offer includes the Four Frames stamp set, I'm using the Vintage Vogue stamp set for this card. I haven't used that set in a while, in spite of the fact that I used it all the time for so long. I think it goes perfectly with this particular design in the package of paper.

The special offer? You may purchase both the Paisley Petals designer series paper and the Four Frames stamp set with a purchase of $20 OR you can earn both with a $350 workshop. See my previous post (or my demonstrator web site) for more details.

For both these cards, I used markers to color the stamp before stamping. That technique enables me to use more than one color on one stamp. So easy!

Wise Owls

This is one of the cards we made at my recent designer paper class. It simply consists of Very Vanilla card stock, Garden Green card stock, and Woodland Walk dsp. I did use some scraps of Chocolate Chip card stock for the owls' eyes in addition to the dsp, which was punched with our fun owl punch. I ran a piece of sticky strip down the card where I wanted the ribbon and folded it here and there as I laid it down, tucking the ends under the Garden Green card stock. Notice how I made the owls look at each other. Because of the small pieces used to make the owls, I used the 2-Way Glue Pen.

Products Used:
Very Vanilla Card Stock, 101650, $8.50 for 40 sheets, 8½" x 11"
Garden Green Card Stock, 102584, $6.95 for 24 sheets, 8½" x 11"

April Promotion

I am so excited about this product preview. Stampin' Up! is offering a fun stamp set that fits our decorative label punch and a gorgeous pack of designer paper for the month of April that will not be available again until the new Idea Book and Catalog comes out in July. You may purchase both items with a minimum $20 purchase OR you can earn them free with a $350 workshop. Be sure to call me (585-394-4259) or e-mail me (tea_n_stamps@yahoo.com) and schedule that workshop this month. Sometimes those last-minute workshops work best because you have to contact everyone personally.

I'm including both the promotion information and a page of larger images. Be sure to click on the images below to see them better.

Soft Spring

When I spotted the bargello technique on splitcoaststampers.com, I quickly added this project to my designer paper stamp-a-stack class. We were going to do three cards of each of three designs, but I added this fourth card (we made just one). If you've been to very many of my classes, you know that I often throw in something extra because I just can't resist sharing something else I came up with after designing the class.

This card features the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper and the Elements of Style stamp set. I have to admit, the bargello technique is time consuming, but using our Sticky Pages sure does help! Just cut your 12" x 12" dsp in half and then into 1/2" and 3/4" strips. Stagger the strips as you attach them to one side of your sticky page cut to the size you desire. Trim the excess, peel off the backing and attach to your card stock.

Elements of Style stamp set, W 118611, $27.95; C 120045, $19.95

"Glitterfly"

Playing with paper once again! This card is so simple--and I could see adorning a scrapbook page wtih this same butterfly. Just designer series paper, crochet trim and glitter. I fear the chunky green glitter is no longer available, but you could always substitute White or Silver Chunky Essentials glitter for the green. I used the 2-way glue pen to apply the glitter.

Actually, I got the idea when I was in my local craft store and saw some glittery butterflies on display in the scrapbook section. I realized how easy it would be to make one to fit my choice of colors simply using the Big Shot and the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die. Of course, I popped the wings with dimensionals... But I wanted something special for the body and antennae, so I chose the Chantilly Crochet Trim. The card base is Very Vanilla card stock.

Products Used:
Very Vanilla Card Stock, 101650, $8.50 for 40 sheets, 8-1/2" x 11"
Woodland Walk Designer Series Paper 117389, $995, 12 double-sided sheets, 12" x 12"

I am so in love with Concord Crush! And I've been dying to use the Hand Knit stamp set but just haven't had the occasion. Designing for classes and workshops has kept me from using this set because not everyone loves to knit! But I have a friend who knits and I knit, so this is perfect!
