Background Stamps Make Great Cards!

Our first class of the Oktoberfest weekend was on using those background stamps that are sitting on our shelves. We made some fantastic cards with them. I'm showing three on this post and I'll share the other three on another post.

Two different background stamps decorate this 5¼-inch square card: Sunflower (123606) and Distressed Dots (122815). We used Chocolate Chip and Peach Parfait classic stampin' pads. The card stock is Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Peach Parfait and Chocolate Chip. Perfectly Penned stamp set provides the greeting on the banner. Ribbon, a glimmer brad and our Scallop Trim Border punch bring the card to life.

For this card, we used Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad to stamp the Parlor Prints background stamp on Crumb Cake card stock. The Creative Elements stamp set provided the images for the rest of the stamping on this card, along with the Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad. I love effect of the Pool Party Rufled Ribbon and the little butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die and fastened with the mini brads.

Once again we used the Parlor Prints background stamp, although we teamed it with the Woodgrain background stamp this time. Notice how it looks like wainscoating and wallpaper behind the clock, which comes from the Forever Young stamp set. The clock was embossed with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder.
