3-D Flower

A stamping friend gave me the instructions for this ruffly flower. So simple, but it does take a little time.

Merely punch eight large scallop circles from card stock or dsp. I used So Saffron designer series paper (retired, but similar paper contained in the Subtles Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack). Ink up the edges. Spread pieces out on a waterproof surface and spritz with water until damp. Then wad each one up in a tight ball; gently open the wads and let them dry. Stack them and insert a brad in the center. You can use a small brad for a carnation effect or you can use a Jumbo Brad, like I did. Note: I stamped the brad using Staz-On ink. Once the brad is inserted, fluff up the layers until you get the effect you want. Make sure the flower is completely dry before adhering to your card. Or put a clasp on the back to wear it as a pin.

Here is a side view. You will probably want to ship this card in a dvd case or a padded envelope. Or hand deliver it.
