Big Shot Cards

Image
Saturday was my Big Shot class. We made two cards, a matchbox filled with chocolates and a purse box. I'm just showing the cards on this post. The ladies who attended were amazed at how simple this first card is to make - no stamping, no cutting, nothing but Big Shot pieces assembled together. Obviously, I did have to cut card stock for the card itself and to fit the Big Shot dies. We used Certainly Celery and Pale Plum card stock along with designer paper from the Razzleberry Lemonade packet. The Big Shot dies needed are: Little Leaves sizzlits die, Cherry Blossom embosslits die, and, of course, the Top Note bigz die. As an afterthought, I punched flower centers from Rich Razzleberry card stock with the 1/4-inch circle punch. This super simple card was made with the Elegant Bouquet textured impressions embossing folder and glossy white card stock. We stamped "Best Wishes" from the Kind and Caring Thoughts hostess stamp set on a scrap of glossy white card stock and

Glittery Butterfly

The Big Shot makes fancy so easy! This card, in Bashful Blue and Rose Red features the Top Note and Beautiful Butterflies bigz dies. I adhered a piece of sticky sheet to Whisper White card stock before running it through the Big Shot for the butterfly. Then I used my hobby knife to cut away the spots from the top layer of the pink protective sheet on the sticky sheet (our sticky sheets are sticky on both sides). Then I covered those spots with the Rose Pink glitter from the Fine Cosmo glitter stack. After I emptied the leftover glitter into its container, I removed the rest of the pink protective covering from the sticky sheet and covered that with the Light Blue glitter from the same stack. My Basic Black marker with a couple black brads made the antennae. Before mounting everything, I stamped the small flower stamp from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set randomly on the card front with matching Bashful Blue ink. I only fastened the center of the butterfly to the designer pa

Thanksgiving

This is one of the cards we made at last week's workshop. So simple! Just Sahara Sand and Soft Suede card stock and Soft Suede classic ink. I used one stamp from two different sets in the holiday mini catalog: "Autumn Splendor" and "Gifts of the Earth". And, of course, a greeting from "Teeny Tiny Wishes". And, of course, I couldn't forget a ribbon accent! The in-colors, like the Soft Suede used here, have such pretty polka-dot ribbons! Because it was a large group, I designed two very similar cards, using the same two stamp sets but different stamps within the sets. I also chose different colors - Confetti Cream and Chocolate Chip card stock with Chocolate Chip ink and Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon. That way I could divide the large group into two smaller ones and they could accomplish their cards more quickly than having to share everything. The other card is shown below.

Surprising Color Combo

I would never have put these colors together if it hadn't been for the combination used in the Razzzleberry Lemonade designer series paper! Along with the ds paper, I used Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry card stock and inks. The stamp set is "Always" and the greeting is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set. I used one of the extra bubbles from the build-a-brad kit and Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon to add dimension. This card is for my daughter and son-in-law, so I wrote my own poem inside. I'm not the world's best poet for sure, but at least the verse is personal! Of course, it's from both Bob and me...
