Simple Card with Painted Seasons Bundle

Image
I love all the Distinktive stamps Stampin' Up! has developed. It started with last year's Sale-a-Bration catalog, then a set in the annual catalog (Healing Hugs) and now Painted Seasons in this year's Sale-a-Bration offerings. And they are even showing up in Paper Pumpkin! This card is super easy, especially if you have the coordinating framelits, which I do not; I fussy cut the flower and leaves after stamping. I actually find fussy cutting very relaxing. I used the back side of this sheet of designer paper for the band across the middle.  A narrow scrap of Whisper White paper worked perfectly for the sentiment. I popped up the flower with dimensionals but merely glued down the other pieces. Actually, I have come to enjoy gluing with the Multipurpose glue because I can slide my paper piece around if I don't get it where I really want it. It dries quickly and stays firmly in place. Painted Seasons, Succulents

Image
Once I received the Painted Seasons stamp set with coordinating designer series paper, I just had to play around. I so often ignore my dsp, sometimes because I want to save it because I like it and then it is discontinued. So I am trying to be intentional about using my designer paper right away with its coordinating stamp sets. I didn't quite make it through all the designs, but I've made a pretty good start. This particular card uses the succulents, both the stamp and the dsp. I've never cared much for the Lemon Lime Twist, but I find I really like it in this card. As I made this card, I thought the Flirty Flamingo coordinated better with the paper than the Petal Pink listed as the color in the designer series paper. I used the Layering Squares Framelits for the stamped image as well as the Flirty Flamingo mat behind it. What I like about using the Framelits is that I could cut the square out of the middle of the Flirty Flamingo layer. No one would know there is a squ

Lovely Latice and Foil

Image
At my February class, we combined the Lovely Lattice Sale-a-Bration stamp set with the Sale-a-Bration foil sheets and the Lace embossing folder. The ladies chose the colors they wanted from my supply of Stampin' Blends as well as the foil they wished to use, Lovely Lipstick or Grapefruit Grove. I had had so much fun with them ahead of time that I had several samples available. Of course, when I made my guide for the evening, I used two different colors (Mango Melody and Balmy Blue), but never took a picture of it.   Products Used: Lovely Lattice SAB cling stamp set (3), 149730, FREE with $50 purchase through March 31st Beautiful Bouquet photopolymer stamp set (37), 143666, $27.00 Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" thick card stock (24), 140272, $7.75 Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $9.75 Grapefruit Grove & Lovely Lipstick 12" x 12" Foil Sheets (8), 149712, FREE with $50 purchase Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, 132708, $6.00 Mango

Emboss Resist Technique with By the Bay Stamp Set

Image
I have found the Emboss Resist technique to be fun and versatile. For this card, I decided to heat emboss the images from By the Bay in clear embossing powder and then sponge them with Pacific Point. At first I was disappointed; then I remembered that I needed to wipe the excess ink off with a tissue. Voila! The images appeared just as I had envisioned them. After mounting the stamped and embossed piece on Pacific Point card stock, I wrapped it with some twine I had laying around (I'm trying to use up some of my discontinued items).  You could probably use the Silver & Pool Party twine which would go well with the ink and might even bring out the rhinestones I used. Since it still needed something, I finished it off with the rhinestones. By The Bay Again

Image
For my February stamp class, I chose to make a more simple card using the By the Bay stamp set. I began with a Coastal Cabana card base and randomly stamped the seashell image on the front in Bermuda Bay ink. I then dry embossed a 2" x 5" strip of Bermuda Bay card stock and attached it to the front followed by a 4-1/4" piece of Burlap Ribbon. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray as were the sea gulls. Once again I used the Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens to add color to the stamped image. I punched that out using the Everyday Label Punch and mounted it over the ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals.
