Valentines from Epic Celebrations

Yes, I'm late posting this card. Although it is a Valentine, it would also make a great masculine birthday card. Just use the dots instead of the hearts. Or keep the hearts if you're sending love with the birthday greetings.

Because my brother is a guitar player, I thought this card was perfect for him. The red here is actually the retired Raspberry Ripple. Since I have so much of that paper, I decided to use it on this card.


I must have forgotten to photograph the card I sent to our son, who is supervisor of recreation at a university in Tennessee. I used the sneakers all over his and colored them with Cherry Cobbler  Stampin' Blends. I'm bummed I can't share that card with you because I think it turned out really cute. Lots of fun with this stamp set, Epic Celebrations, one that I thought I would use very seldom.

You Mean Everything to Me

As much as I prefer scanning my cards over photographing them, I find there are some disadvantages. My little banner that is stamped with "you mean everything to me" loses the 3D look as it gets flattened by the cover of the scanner. Kyla and I were just playing around with ideas while she was visiting (did I mention, she's my new recruit?) and this was one of the cards I designed. Gathering the ribbon slightly, cutting out the heart image and folding and trimming the "banner" across the heart meant a little extra fussing, but I really like the result. When I was all finished with the card, I decided to add a little sparkle by spraying it with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. If you look closely, you can see some of the sparkle that added to the card, including the ribbon. When you actually hold it in your hands, you can see the glittery shimmer much more easily. The Christmas Quilt bundle has so much versatility! I'm still using the Blooms & Bliss designer paper from last year's catalog as I design these cards. Easter Daffodils

"You're Inspiring" stamp set is perfect for Easter or Mother's Day or sympathy or almost any occasion. With Easter approaching, that holiday was the obvious choice. This card uses two Sale-a-Bration items as well as the "You're Inspiring" stamp set from the Occasions Catalog: the Basket Weave embossing folder and the Springtime Foils Specialty dsp. And of course I used the Stampin' Blends! I'm wondering if I'll ever use my markers, now that I have experienced the 3D effects of our blends that also allow me to color with no streaks. Unless you have the Springtime Foils dsp, you may not realize that the leaves on this sheet are not green.  You can color this glossy paper with metallic designs using your Stampin' Blends, which is what I did here.
