Valentine Panda

Talk about easy! For this card, I just grabbed one of our Whisper White note cards that come with envelopes, added a piece of designer paper leftover from last year's paper stack backed with coordinating Real Red card stock, punched out three hearts, and finished off by stamping, fussy cutting and attaching a panda from the Sale-a-Bration catalog. Note: the center heart is popped up with dimensionals as is the little Panda Bear. The heart on his envelope makes him perfect for a Valentine, but would also work for any kind of greeting to someone you care about.

We made this as a bonus card at my January stamp class. The Party Pandas stamp set is free with a $50 order.

Although the dsp I used on this card is retired, any design from the 12" x 12"Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (12 sheets, 145580, $13.00) would work well, too. You would just have to use one of the other colors (Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, Powder Pink) in place of Real Red. My polka dot heaert was the reverse side of my design paper.

I also used the retired heart-shaped punch, but you can use the one of the Sweet & Sassy Framelits (15 dies, 141707, $35.00)

You Mean Everything to Me

As much as I prefer scanning my cards over photographing them, I find there are some disadvantages. My little banner that is stamped with "you mean everything to me" loses the 3D look as it gets flattened by the cover of the scanner. Kyla and I were just playing around with ideas while she was visiting (did I mention, she's my new recruit?) and this was one of the cards I designed. Gathering the ribbon slightly, cutting out the heart image and folding and trimming the "banner" across the heart meant a little extra fussing, but I really like the result. When I was all finished with the card, I decided to add a little sparkle by spraying it with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. If you look closely, you can see some of the sparkle that added to the card, including the ribbon. When you actually hold it in your hands, you can see the glittery shimmer much more easily. The Christmas Quilt bundle has so much versatility! I'm still using the Blooms & Bliss designer paper from last year's catalog as I design these cards. Today's post uses different designs from the pack from Saturday's post. Once again you can see the variety acquired using the same papers. Easter Daffodils

"You're Inspiring" stamp set is perfect for Easter or Mother's Day or sympathy or almost any occasion. With Easter approaching, that holiday was the obvious choice. This card uses two Sale-a-Bration items as well as the "You're Inspiring" stamp set from the Occasions Catalog: the Basket Weave embossing folder and the Springtime Foils Specialty dsp. And of course I used the Stampin' Blends! I'm wondering if I'll ever use my markers, now that I have experienced the 3D effects of our blends that also allow me to color with no streaks. Unless you have the Springtime Foils dsp, you may not realize that the leaves on this sheet are not green.  You can color this glossy paper with metallic designs using your Stampin' Blends, which is what I did here.
