I want to be sure to post all the cards I've made so far with Sale-a-Bration items before the catalog expires March 31st. I really didn't know what I wanted to do with this stamp when I pulled it out and stamped on the card stock initially. I knew I wanted to incorporate some Designer Series Paper, but wasn't sure what colors I would use or anything. Then I decided to stamp the image in Old Olive and that set the course for the rest of the design. I love the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack so much that I actually ordered another pad, and this paper comes from my supply. And I've also come to love the Stylish Stems Framelits from the Occasions catalog that coordinates with the Special Reason stamp set, not just for the flowers and leaves, but also for this label in two sizes.

Because there is a wee bit of color on this dsp, I took my Calypso Coral watercolor pencil and shaded the flowers just a tad. I fear that pretty Old Olive ribbon, however, is no longer available.

I really like the font used for the birthday greeting in this SAB stamp set. There two more word stamps in the set as well as several other images. You can find another card made with this set in a previous post.

You Mean Everything to Me

As much as I prefer scanning my cards over photographing them, I find there are some disadvantages. My little banner that is stamped with "you mean everything to me" loses the 3D look as it gets flattened by the cover of the scanner. Kyla and I were just playing around with ideas while she was visiting (did I mention, she's my new recruit?) and this was one of the cards I designed. Gathering the ribbon slightly, cutting out the heart image and folding and trimming the "banner" across the heart meant a little extra fussing, but I really like the result. When I was all finished with the card, I decided to add a little sparkle by spraying it with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. If you look closely, you can see some of the sparkle that added to the card, including the ribbon. When you actually hold it in your hands, you can see the glittery shimmer much more easily. The Christmas Quilt bundle has so much versatility! I'm still using the Blooms & Bliss designer paper from last year's catalog as I design these cards. Today's post uses different designs from the pack from Saturday's post. Once again you can see the variety acquired using the same papers. Easter Daffodils

"You're Inspiring" stamp set is perfect for Easter or Mother's Day or sympathy or almost any occasion. With Easter approaching, that holiday was the obvious choice. This card uses two Sale-a-Bration items as well as the "You're Inspiring" stamp set from the Occasions Catalog: the Basket Weave embossing folder and the Springtime Foils Specialty dsp. And of course I used the Stampin' Blends! I'm wondering if I'll ever use my markers, now that I have experienced the 3D effects of our blends that also allow me to color with no streaks. Unless you have the Springtime Foils dsp, you may not realize that the leaves on this sheet are not green.  You can color this glossy paper with metallic designs using your Stampin' Blends, which is what I did here.
