Avant Garden CASE

Image
Although I love the card on page 4 of the Sale-a-Bration catalog, I chose to use slightly different colors and embellishments. This stamp set is available for free with a purchase of $50. I love the sayings as well as the stamps. I anticipate making lots more designs with this set. The Whisper White on this card began as a 4" x 4" piece which I then cut before stamping. Attaching them to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Sahara Sand card stock made it easy to line them up. I love the soft yet cheerfulness of this card. A variation of this card employed the spatter stamp. I also cut the Whisper White card stock from point to point, giving it a different look yet. I think I prefer the clean look of the card above, but one of my class attendees preferred the spattering on this one below. Products Used: Avant Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set (10), 143272, free with $50 purchase Peekaboo Peach 8-1/2" x 11" card stock (24), 141417, $8.00 Sahara Sand 8-1/2&q

Dazzling Butterfly

I originally designed this card for my granddaughter's birthday, but my husband seemed to think I should give her a card I had already made with ice cream cones on it. I ended up selling this card because a customer admired it so. Since our photopolymer stamps are flexible, I worked hard to arch the greeting to fit the punch. I did this by placing the stamp on the punched paper and then picked it up with my acrylic block. Mediterranean Moments

Image
I was so charmed by the Mediterranean Moments stamp set in the Occasions Catalog, that I wanted to order it, even though I wasn't sure how I would use it. Then I discovered we also have Watercolor Pencils in our catalog in colors that coordinate with our color families! So I ordered both and began fooling around with it. I do hope Stampin' Up! adds more colors because I really wanted a brick color and would have chosen Cajun Craze if it had been available. But I had lots of fun coloring and then smoothing the coloring out with a Blender Pen. I might add a banner with a greeting, such as Happy Birthday, but for now it's just a peaceful note card. Products Used: Mediterranean Moments stamp set (4), W 143188, $28.00; C 143191, $20.00 Watercolor Pencils (13), 141709, $16.00 Blender Pens (3), 102845, $10.00 Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock (40), 100730, $9.00 Pacific Point 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock (24), 111350, $8.00 Smoky Slate 8'1/2" x

Celebrate!

Image
As I flipped through the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack, I decided that the sheet used on the card below reminded me of sand and sea and sky. So I grabbed a retired stamp set, Moon Lake, and set to work designing this card. I used "Celebrate You" from Birthday Blossoms stamp set because this was to be a belated card. The truth is, I was mailing it on the day of my son-in-law's birthday, so it would arrive late. This year we are celebrating all three family January birthdays on one day, so I wanted to send the card before our gathering. After all, we celebrate birthdays because we are celebrating the very existence of that special someone! The bow, consisting of Early Espresso Baker's Twine and a thread from our burlap ribbon, was added because I had some Early Espresso ink on the edge of my stamp, leaving a mark. The bow looks like it belongs and covers the mishap perfectly!
