More Cards with the Lotus Blossom Stamp Set

Image
To welcome the Sale-a-Bration catalog, my upline, Aly Schilling, organized a stamping soiree so that all her demonstrators could make cards using all the new products in the catalog—plus a few from the new mini catalog. Since I posted my card featuring the Lotus Blossom stamp set, I thought I would share some more cards using the same stamp set. These were designed by Aly. The Washi Tape on this card is found on page 39 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The card below includes a doily and some of the Rose Red lace in the Artisan Embellishment Kit sold in the Occasions Catalog (page 27).  The background paper on this card is from the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper, available for free from the Sale-a-Bration catalog with a $50 purchase. What I love about this paper is that it can be any color or combination of colors you choose; the design resists ink and shows through after sponging or spritzing. For this one we used a brayer inked with Crushed Curry. Even the

Gold Soiree Valentine

Although I'm calling this card a Valentine, I haven't put a greeting on it because I believe it could also be used as an anniversary or a wedding card. I've used the Crisp Cantaloupe with this dsp because it is perfect with it. I am going to miss certain of the 2013-15 in colors - like the Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar and Pistachio Pudding. The flower is from the Sale-a-Bration catalog and is free with a $50 purchase. I love it that it's free and that it's a photopolymer set, but I'm bummed that it's only available through the end of March. The flower is comprised of three different stamps layered over each other. Stampin' Up suggests you start with the smaller image and the darkest ink, which works well for me. Others find it difficult and prefer to begin with the solid image and the lightest color. Experiment and see what you think. This card design incorporates the gold satin ribbon and gold foil paper. I love the effect of the Hearts Borde

Gifts of Kindness Thank You Card

This is the final card from the gift set we made in early December. Each card used the same basic color scheme and the same in color designer series paper stack. I merely flipped over the cut-out from the previous card and designed around it. One of the things I like about the Gifts of Kindness stamp set is all the greetings it has plus the fact that the font is just a little different from many of the other stamp sets. A simple card, to say the least. Plus it is easy to see how perfectly our papers, inks and ribbons coordinate. The flat but elegant bow consists of two small pieces of ribbon. First you make a loop from one piece in whatever size you want your bow. Fasten the ends with a glue dot. You may wish to add a glue dot between the layers as well. Then attach a very small piece of ribbon at the back, covering the overlap. Wrap this piece around the loop; fasten on back with another glue dot. Trim the end so it doesn't show from the front. Merely attach to the ribbon you

Floral Thinking of You card

The holidays have been so busy, but I was glad I had several sets of cards to add to my Christmas giving! Our son was visiting from Tennessee with his dog, which meant I had a lot of dog hair and slobber to clean up when they left (his dog is half Mastiff and half Catahoula). But I was glad to have them here. The rest of the family lives fairly close by—one daughter's family and my sister's family in the same town and the other daughter's family just over an hour away. Love being able to get together for all the important celebrations with them and just wish our son could move closer, but location depends on employment, so... Anyway, this card is another one from the set we made at my December class. We used one of the framelits from the Window Frames collection to cut an opening in the designer series paper and saved the piece we removed for the final card in the set. Products used: Thoughts & Prayers stamp set (8), W 128751, $25.95; C 127805 $18.95 Flower Shop
