A Note Card, Six-Sided Sampler and Two In Colors

Image
For my July class, we made two card using our pre-cut and scored 3½" x 5" note cards. I love the way this one turned out—so pretty. The other one is more on the "cute" side, but I love it, too. When adding the Blackberry Bliss floral hexagons, I used dimensionals and overlapped the edges somewhat. Fabulous Color Combination With Stampin' Chalk Marker

Image
Since I've seen the same card done over and over again, I just had to try it with different colors. I fell in love with this in-color combination: Pistachio Pudding and Mossy Meadow. Once again I used the Bloom With Hope hostess set (available only to hostesses using their earned hostess dollars) and the White Stampin' Chalk Marker, new this year. Products Used: Bloom With Hope hostess stamp set (11), W 133949, $23; C 133952, $17 Mossy Meadow 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 133676, $6.95 Pistachio Pudding 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 131294, $6.95 Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad, 133645; $5.95 White Stampin' Chalk Marker, 132133, $3.50

Stampin' Chalk Marker on Another Hostess Set

Image
This card is made the same way as yesterday's post, even using the same colors. The one difference, however, is the stamp set used. It is another hostess set. I have to admit that I really love this year's hostess stamp sets. And I think I actually like this one even more than the one I posted yesterday. A Popular New Technique

Image
I have seen this card on several sites and had to make it myself. We also made it at my July stamp class. Future posts will include a couple variations of the same card and technique. This one is just the Bloom With Hope images stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake card stock. I then used the Stampin' Chalk Marker to add highlights to the blooms and leaves. The stamped piece is attached to an Early Espresso card base to which I added a coordinating liner for the verse. Products Used: Bloom with Hope stamp set (11), Hostess W 133949, $23, C 133952, $17 Early Espresso 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 119686, $6.95 Crumb Cake 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 120953, $6.95 Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad, 126974, $5.95 White Stampin' Chalk Marker, 132133, $3.50

Decorative Masks

Image
I wasn't sure how I would use the new Decorative Masks that Stampin' Up! brought into the new catalog. I figured they would be great for creating my own designer paper and set about experimenting. This is my first project. I think I want to try embossing with it another time. The Decorative Masks come in sets of two, one of stars and another or stars, aptly named "Hearts & Stars". The other set available is called "Dots & Stripes". You guessed it—those masks are for making big dots and stripes. I'm thinking that you could use the stripes one direction, then turn them and create your own checks! It's easy to tell which set I used. This card was the perfect opportunity to use scraps of my Designer Series Paper from the Kind Koala card we made at my June class. Products Used: Hearts A Flutter stamp set (8), retired Delightful Dozen stamp set (12), retired Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Crisp Cantaloupe

Six-Sided Sampler with In Colors

Image
I don't know why it has taken me so long to discover the beauty of this stamp set! I have to admit, however, that I wasn't sure I liked this card as I was creating it. But as I left it where I could look at it repeatedly, I found I liked it more and more. I think sometimes I'm too involved in the creating to step back and appreciate the result. Part of it was that I wasn't sure if I liked the color combination. However, it happened to lay on my counter next to a commercial thank you card that, I kid you not, has the same colors in it! Talk about confirmation...! Products Used: Six-Sided Sampler stamp set (11), W 130953, $26.95; C 130956, $18.95 Lost Lagoon 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 133679, $6.95 Tangelo Twist 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 133677, $6.95 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 101650, $8.50 Lost Lagoon Classic Stampin' Pad, 133644, $5.95 Tangelo Twist Classic Stampin' Pad, 133646, $5.95 Lost Lagoon 3/8"

Classy Purse Gift Bag

Image
This is one of the projects we are making at my July camp class. Have been thinking of ways to double the size, as in using two 12"x12" sheets overlapping the bottoms. So fun! And a great way to have my customers help me use up some of my retired paper and card stock. This purse is made with the old Not Quite Navy 12" x 12" card stock, which goes perfectly with the retired paper stack that included Midnight Muse. Who would have thought they would complement each other so well?
