Traveling by Ship

I was playing around with watercolor paper when I created this card. I was also experimenting with the Memento ink pad. Yes, it will smear when wet, so I had to be careful as I painted the water and sky around the ship.  When trying to decide what embossing folder would coordinate with a ship, I decided the Chevron would be most like waves. Then I was searching for a font that I thought fit the mood of this card. I decided on the center of the birthday stamp from the now retired Delightful Dozen set. I used my Basic Black Stampin' Marker to ink up only the two words on the stamp that I wanted to use. If you look closely, you'll notice I added a splash of Daffodil Delight for a little bit of sun. I used retired Basic Black grosgrain ribbon, but you could always substitute a strip of Basic Black card stock. What a great masculine card!
