Thanks a Bunch

Looking at a sheet of Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper, a sheet I love, I noticed for the first time that it has some grape-like clusters. My immediate thought was: Friendship Preserves stamp set. I've added a photo of these cards so you can get a better feeling for the actual colors since the scans altered them somewhat.

This card is my second attempt at a design using both the dsp and one of the stamps. [I'm not sure why the scan of this card turned out brighter than the original; the dsp is really very soft and subtle.] Obviously, I colored the stamp with my Pistachio Pudding and Island Indigo Stampin' Write Markers before stamping on the Very Vanilla card stock and cutting it out with the Framelits dies from the Window Frames Collection. I just love the way this one turned out, and it gave me ideas to tweak my first design.

After completing this card, I realized that part of the problem with my first design was that the ribbon I used was just too narrow, so I inserted two more pieces with "V" cuts. I had originally added the little piece of Pistachio Pudding card stock, sponged with Island Indigo, and a button with a pear to try to give it the "something extra" that it needed. I still wasn't satisfied until I added the ribbon pieces. Much better than the original.

[Both the stamp set and the designer series paper are retiring with this catalog May 31st. The ribbon was from 2012 Sale-a-Bration.]
