'Tis the Season...

As we approached this holiday season, a time to celebrate and rejoice over our Savior's birth, death reared its ugly head. Yet, what better way to realize anew the reason God sent His only Son—not just to live amongst us and experience life as the created man, but also to open the way to personal relationship with the Almighty God, providing life everlasting, overcoming the power of death in the victory of his crucifixion and resurrection.

We saw the depravity of man in the senseless shooting in Connecticut. We saw more horror in Webster, NY—not that far from home for me. Evidence man's need of a Savior his need of God. Some other deaths were expected, like the mothers who were in nursing homes. Or the stepdad with cancer. But there were also the sudden deaths of my son-in-law's mother and my upline's father-in-law.

As a result, I am in great need of sympathy cards. Above are two variations of the same card. I used the Elegant Bird Bigz die in each and used the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the feather effect (that folder will become available during Sale-a-Bration January 22 to March 22).  I also used the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder that will be available January 3rd (the upcoming seasonal catalog).

I rubbed Bashful Blue pastel chalk (retired) over the first bird. The wing of the second is debossed simply because I had it turned the wrong way to fit the bird's body, which is of retired dsp.  Thoughts & Prayers is the only stamp set I used for both cards.
