Christmas Manger

While designing cards for my Christmas in July class, I created a card that I cannot use at the class. I love the way this turned out, but I just don't have enough of this sheet of designer series paper. I had never imagined that the Floral District dsp would include a design I would want to use for a Christmas card. Of course, the stamp set cannot be purchased until August 1st...

When I started working on this card, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I would use the Midnight Muse card stock and emboss in white two of the images from the First Christmas stamp set and cut it out with one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits, which I did. In the process of deciding what to put behind it, I found a scrap of the Floral District dsp and realized that it looks a lot like stars within the scallop circles (it's the reverse side of the designer series paper I used in a previous class). My thought to put white scallops along both edges of the dsp morphed into using the new Large Scallop Edgelit and the Delicate Designs Textured Embossing Folder. I just love the way this card turned out! Maybe I'll make it in a Fall class.
One of the things I love about this stamp set is the messages—they are so what I want to say! The stamp inside the card says, "This Christmas may you know Him more fully through the love and grace He so richly bestows."
