Easter Cards Without all the Flowers!

My two nephews and a niece lost their mother (my sister) last week. I want to encourage them with a few verses and cards for their first holiday without their mom. I decided I needed to make cards for the boys that were not excessively flowery but could still be Eastery. Surprisingly, I chose the Just Add Cake designer series paper and really like the result. Both cards have a Whisper White base. The card below includes retired designer ribbon that I had laying around. I think it added just the right touch.

Inside the cards, I want to include a couple Bible verses that will remind them that they have the hope of seeing their Mom again in eternity:

"But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man" (1 Corinthians 15:20-21, NIV).

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Peter 1:3, NIV).

"Jesus said...'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies'" (John 11:25).

Davina, I'm sure they will appreciate your compassion and the cards. They are both lovely. Deepest sympathy as you grieve the loss of your sister.
