Need for Big

Image
I try to keep our ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship) supplied with large cards that can be sent around for everyone to sign when someone is ill or in need of some encouragement or whatever. This is my latest, using some of that gorgeous Designer Series Paper, Spice Cake, from the expired Holiday Mini Catalog. I punched all the squares out with our 1-3/8" square punch. Haphazardly added various brads and then stamped below with the Day of Gratitude stamp set (page 28 in 2011-12 Idea Book and Catalog). The greeting is from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set (page 160, IB&C). This card has been sent to one of our members who was in an accident in Florida. Many broken bones and lots of pain. I trust our prayers and notes will cheer her up as she recovers and goes through physical therapy.

Perk Up!

Such a simple and cheerful card! Final technique for our Watercolor Wonder Crayon technique class: simply color with the crayons on dark card stock. The colors show up very nicely. I tried using an Aqua Painter on these, but the color disappeared. Blender pens worked better for smoothing out the coloring, but they still removed some of the color. Merely coloring gives them the appearance of being chalked. I used Sahara Sand and Tempting Turquoise to color the percolator and just Tempting Turquoise for the mug. A little Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on the heart added a touch of bling to the card. Rich Razzleberry Get Well

We had a great time at my Watercolor Wonder Crayon classes last week. For this card, we painted the flower with Aqua Painters. Color where you want the color darkest. Once you touch the colored areas with your Aqua Painter, you can easily fill in the rest of the flower. You can always add more color after, if needed. You can also take a little extra color from the crayon itself with the tip of your brush. Tip: Use watercolor paper when painting with your Aqua Painters. Products Used: Fifth Avenue Floral (5 stamps), Wood mount only, 113734, $24.95 Perfectly Penned stamp set (4 stamps), W 122890, $16.95; C 122892, $12.95 Daffodil Delight 8½" x 11" card stock (24 sheets), 119683, $6.95 Rich Razzleberry 8½" x 11" card stock (24 sheets), 115316, $6.95 6" x 9" Watercolor Paper (5 sheets), 122959, $4.95 Beyond the Garden 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12 double-sided sheets), 122342, $10.95 Rich Razzleberry ¼" Grosgrain Ribbon (15 yards), 120930,

Elegant Grapes

In preparing for my Watercolor Wonder Crayon class, i came up with this card using Nature's Pace stamp set. Living in grape country, it just seems appropriate to use this stamp. To get the soft, multi-colored look when stamping, I color the rubber stamp with the crayons, then spritz lightly with water and stamp. I couldn't resist using my Framelits dies on this card. I just love the effect! Celebrate—It's Your Day!

I sent this card to one of my customers for her birthday. I started out planning to use my watercolor wonder crayons and design another card for my classes being taught the 16th and the 18th. I wanted to use some dsp since I always have a lot leftover because I save it. But this paper just didn't work with the water color effect. Join Me for a Cup of Tea!

Image
Life has been so busy! My sister is in and out of the hospital with her cancer. Visited her today and she is doing so much better! So many have been lifting her up in prayer and God is answering! As I write this, I am enjoying a cup of Strawberry Shortcake black tea. So enjoyable. Because of my love of tea, I just had to order the Tea Shoppe stamp set. Even if Stampin' Up! retires this stamp, i will never be able to part with it. I colored the stamps with markers coordinating with the Twitterpated dsp before stamping. Obviously, I cut out the tea cup. The Island Indigo card stock is cut and textured and raised up so I can insert a bag of loose wild blueberry tea before sending this off to a good friend who enjoys tea as much as I do. Well, maybe not quite as much... Notice the bow on this card. I did not tie it. Instead I formed two loops and bunched them together with a brad.
