Floral Christmas

The stamp set, "A Flower for All Seasons" includes four different flower containers, one of which I had used in an Easter card. So, when I set out to design cards for my holiday card class, I decided I needed to use the potted pointsettia plant.

Real Red, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla card stocks comprise this card. You can see the dry embossing on the background piece of Real Red which was accomplished with the Big Shot and the Petals-a-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The image was stamped in Black, originally Black Staz-on, but we used the Black Classic Stampin' Pad for the class and it worked just fine. We added color using Blender Pens and three ink pads: Real Red, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight.

I also decided to use the Word Window Punch the way it was originally intended, although I've almost never used it that way. We punched the hole in the Real Red embossed card stock then laid it over the "Merry Christmas", which was stamped with Old Olive Classic Ink. Tying a knot in the Real Red 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon added dimension and class to the card. And I love the way a knot in ribbon almost looks like a bow!
