Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set in Card Kit

This is another variation of a card in the February card kit. I used the Happy Moments stamp set from the Sale-a-bration mini catalog (119125 or 118664, free with $50 purchase) and Itty Bitty Backgrounds (114996, $14.95). After stamping the dots around the edges of the water color paper, I took my wet Aqua Painter and, picking up the ink from stamping, "painted" the "mat" around the focal image. Look closely and you can see the flowers and "happy birthday" stamped between the certainly celery strip and the layered image.

Card stock and classic ink pads used for this card are Rich Razzleberry, Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray, and Certainly Celery as well as Watercolor Paper. The torn edges add texture. Stampin' Dimensionals (104430, $3.95) add depth to the focal point. The final embellishment is the addition of a button fastened with a glue dot after threading and tying with linen thread.

You Mean Everything to Me

As much as I prefer scanning my cards over photographing them, I find there are some disadvantages. My little banner that is stamped with "you mean everything to me" loses the 3D look as it gets flattened by the cover of the scanner. Kyla and I were just playing around with ideas while she was visiting (did I mention, she's my new recruit?) and this was one of the cards I designed. Gathering the ribbon slightly, cutting out the heart image and folding and trimming the "banner" across the heart meant a little extra fussing, but I really like the result. When I was all finished with the card, I decided to add a little sparkle by spraying it with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. If you look closely, you can see some of the sparkle that added to the card, including the ribbon. When you actually hold it in your hands, you can see the glittery shimmer much more easily. The Christmas Quilt bundle has so much versatility! I'm still using the Blooms & Bliss designer paper from last year's catalog as I design these cards. Today's post uses different designs from the pack from Saturday's post. Once again you can see the variety acquired using the same papers. Easter Daffodils

"You're Inspiring" stamp set is perfect for Easter or Mother's Day or sympathy or almost any occasion. With Easter approaching, that holiday was the obvious choice. This card uses two Sale-a-Bration items as well as the "You're Inspiring" stamp set from the Occasions Catalog: the Basket Weave embossing folder and the Springtime Foils Specialty dsp. And of course I used the Stampin' Blends! I'm wondering if I'll ever use my markers, now that I have experienced the 3D effects of our blends that also allow me to color with no streaks. Unless you have the Springtime Foils dsp, you may not realize that the leaves on this sheet are not green.  You can color this glossy paper with metallic designs using your Stampin' Blends, which is what I did here.
