Scalloped Tag Topper Punch Card

Image
This card was a big hit with my February class! A little fussy, but so worth it! And I'm just so in love with the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper that I've been using it a lot. So much gorgeous designer series paper in our catalogs! You have to mark the card stock before pushing it into the Scalloped Tag Topper punch so your pieces line up. Then cut away the excess card stock using your Stampin' Trimmer and score one of the tabs. You then score the card base placing the edge with the scored tab at the 4¼" line. Daubing extra Daffodil Delight ink around the edges of the greeting and the liner made the card pop. This first picture shows the card as it would come from the envelope.  Here is the card opened up. So fun! Golden Elegance

I was attracted to the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum in our mini catalog, but wasn't sure how I wanted to use it. I love what I came up with—so elegant, yet relatively simple. We made it at my February card class, but saved it till last because embossing powder can get messy. However, my ladies were very neat with it and they oohed and aahed over the card, which always makes me feel good. I'm planning to give this card to my sister for her birthday Wednesday. I used the Brushed Gold card stock for the leaves because I had it, but the gold foil in our mini catalog would be great, too. Products Used: Secret Garden stamp set (7), W 131940, $25.95; C 129144, $18.95 Create a Cupcake stamp set (12), W 128520, $22.95; C 121982, $16.95 Rich Razzleberry 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 115316, $6.95 Brushed Gold 8½" x 11" card stock (10), 102935, $7.95 Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum 12" x 12" sheets (9), 133363, $10.95 VersaMark ink pad, 102283, $7.50 Go

Oh, That Fabulous Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper

Image
Island Indigo and Gumball Green—fabulous colors paired in the gorgeous new Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. Gumball Green is one of last year's in colors, so it will be leaving us in June. I'll miss it, but Wild Wasabi is similar, just not as bright. If you look closely at the dsp on this card we made in my February stamp class, you'll notice there is some Smoky Slate in the mix, which is why I chose to use that color to stamp behind the Perfectly Penned birthday greeting. I have come to love our embossing folders because they give texture and oomph to what would be just an okay card. When attaching the ribbon, I used my snail adhesive except on the ends. Then I placed a mini glue dot in the corner of the back side for tucking the ribbon behind. The oval with its greeting is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Products Used: Perfectly Penned stamp set (4), W 128703, $16.95; C 122892, $12.95 Fabulous Florets stamp set (6), W 128574, $23.95; C 123027,

Smaller Valentines

Image
My 4-year-old granddaughter loves anything with bling, so I just had to make her Valentine card with plenty of glitter. Her 2-year-old sister hasn't expressed her likes as much, but tends to copy her sister in many things. I used up some scraps for these two cards, including some of the Christmas dsp and some old Christmas ribbons. The small heart from the Hearts A Flutter stamp set was covered with Crystal Effects and then sprinkled generously with gold glitter. The cards are so similar yet different. Of course, Kyah immediately took Karis' card from her and added her own "notes" to the inside before giving it back to her.

Square Valentine

I designed and sent this card to some dear friends of my parents, friends who stood by during Mom's illnesses and, years later, through Dad's dying days. It was simple to make because of the Hearts Collection of Framelits. I had found a Valentine poem on line that made me think of them and all they have meant to our family and had to send them a card. Masculine Valentine

This is the card I designed for my husband's Valentine this year. I even found a poem on-line instead of writing my own. Once again, the designer series paper is Venetian Romance, but I added a splash of red. Something Borrowed

Having ordered the Spiral Flower Originals Die from the mini catalog, I wasn't exactly sure how to use it. Then I found this adorable chocolate holder on Kay Kalthoff's blog (www.stampingtoshare.com)! I copied it for use at my February stamp class. So fun! You are Amazing with Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper

Image
In spite of last month's class featuring the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper, I never designed a card using my favorite piece until yesterday. Just couldn't figure out how I wanted to feature it. So when I missed my sister-in-law's birthday, I decided to use a stamp from the Lovely Romance set and then include a belated message on the inside. The design was rattling around in my head for several days, which made it easy to complete when I had the time to sit down and do so. The embellishment is made with Simply Pressed Clay. Instead of using the ink refill in Island Indigo, I used the marker, poking my little ball numerous times and then working it in. I left it mottled rather than working it until a solid color. I liked the effect and left it. You can see from the photo that I even lined my envelope! Pistachio Sympathy

Image
I fell in love with the Pistachio Pudding color as soon as I saw this year's in colors but haven't done much with it. When preparing for the Venetian Romance dsp class, I was also in need of a few sympathy cards. This card is so soft and sweet; I love it and so did all those at my class. Admittedly, it was not part of the original line-up of cards, but I threw it in at the last minute because I was so pleased with it. Using the Squares Collection (Framelits), I cut an opening from a piece of Pistachio Pudding card stock before embossing with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder and then adhered the pistachio and vanilla floral paper from the Venetian Romance pack behind the square. I punched the pansy from the script design in the same pack of dsp.  If I ever get my computer and scanner to talk to each other, my copies of my cards will be much clearer.
