Glittery Christmas Tree

Image
We made this Christmas card at my last workshop. I made an ink pad with damp paper towels and chlorine bleach and then stamped the pine tree a couple times on the Night of Navy card stock. After cleaning my stamp, I stamped again with white craft ink. Then I applied glue haphazardly on the trees with my 2-way glue pen before sprinkling with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The white taffeta ribbon with a couple strands of silver cord added a touch of elegance. To make this card, you would need the following items from the 2009-10 Idea Book & Catalog: Whisper White card stock (100730) Night of Navy card stock (100867) Vellum card stock (101856) Craft White stampin' pad (101731) Lovely as a Tree stamp set (115026) A Cardinal Christmas stamp set (111760) Dazzling Diamonds glitter (102023) Whisper White taffeta ribbon (109070) Silver Elastic Cord (109866 - Holiday Mini Catalog)

Inspired by Nature

This is one of those cards I didn't want to give away! But I'll feel that way about future cards, too, since I've felt that way before. I don't often use the Glossy White card stock for stamping, usually reserving it for special techniques or dry embossing. However, my daughter wanted to add something to a glossy page in a digital scrapbook. I used our Glossy White card stock to demonstrate how it would look. Of course, I don't like to waste anything, so I immediately had to incorporate the stamped image into a card. To make this card, you need the following items from the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog: Inspired by Nature stamp set, 111656, $23.95, pg 96 Flight of the Butterfly stamp set, 111564, $31.95, pg 108 Mellow Moss card stock, 102898, $5.50, and classic ink, 102774, $5.95 pg 157 Bravo Burgundy card stock, 105123, $5.50, and classick ink, 105214, $5.95 pg 157 Glossy White card stock, 102599, $5.95, pg 159 1/4" Bravo Burgundy grosgrain Ribbon, 1090

Oh, those wonderful, versatile decor elements! They are great on walls, picture frames and all sorts of things. On the above item, I applied the "Lattice" design to a glass container designed for floral arrangements. Then I added votives and glass marbles. I love the glow of the flame through the glass!
