Spirited Snowmen

Image
Our world has been shrouded in cold weather and snowy landscapes, so I just had to create a winter scene. Yes, it appears the Spirited Snowmen stamp set has been discontinued, but winter is not over and I decided to use that set for one of our class cards anyway. These are long-standing customers, so they understand when I choose to use something that's been discontinued on occasion. I've seen variations of this card all over Pinterest, so I'm not sure to whom credit goes. I still haven't perfected the use of my embossing paste. I do have the decorative masks, so I'll have to play around with them and the embossing paste. But the Shimmery White Embossing Paste is perfect for snow banks. I stamped the trees in the background with Early Espresso ink. Obviously the moisture in the embossing paste caused the ink to run a little, but winter time has its muddy places anyway, so it still works. I then sponged on some Balmy Blue ink for a pond and surrounded it with emb

Simple Elegance

Since we made two rather fussy cards at my last stamp class, I knew I had to have a couple easier cards. This is one of the two (the other was in my previous post using the Tea Together stamp set). I fell in love with the Delicate Lace Edgelits in our annual catalog and only recently purchased them. I then put a strip of Highland Heather card stock behind the "lace". To do this, I line the contrasting piece up with the back of the card after running a strip of Snail down the left and applying a few drops of glue behind the lace. Once it is lined up with the outer edge, I merely fold the card and press. Voila! Perfect alignment. I used a blender pen to color the blooms. After stamping the greeting

Tea Together Stamp Set

As you can probably guess from the name of my blog, I truly love my tea! I have 31 flavors of loose tea in my lazy susan cupboard, only five of which are not black tea! And those five are rooibus, or red teas, which are technically not tea at all since they contain no tea leaves. Like herbal "teas". So when I spotted the Tea Together stamp set in the Occasions Catalog, I was thrilled. And then the coordinating framelits in the Sale-A-Bration catalog just put it over the top for me. Although this card was designed for Mother's Day, it's great for any time! And I think the verse is appropriate for a mother to send to her daughter as well. When I designed this card, I decided not to do much stamping but to use pastel designer series paper from the Tropical Escape set. When you look at my sample, try to picture a setting on a table. I sought to achieve the look of wall paper with a sampler hanging on the wall and the table set with a lace-edged tablecloth and teapot a
