Ornament

Image
We also made an ornament at my November stamping class using our Simply Pressed Clay (2.4 oz. 130685, $6.95), some re-inkers and a cookie stamp (see page 199 in the core catalog). After working the ink into the clay, we rolled it into a ball and pressed it into a circle using a cookie stamp. The one I used is from the original set but I think the mitten on the current set of cookie stamps would be just as adorable. You could even color the mitten with a Stampin' Write Marker. When we had the ornament we wanted, we threaded a large-eye needle with silver ribbon (10 yards, 132137, $4.95) and pushed it through the soft clay. It takes 24 hours to dry completely. My clay is colored with Marina Mist ink refill, although I offered the ladies a choice of Night of Navy or Daffodil Delight ink as well.

Seasonally Scattered in Wisteria Wonder

Image
I featured this stamp set for two of the cards we made at my November class. This one is a Christmas card in different colors. I've always loved the Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant colors, which look so nice together. I decided they would work very well with the Seasonally Scattered snowflakes for Christmas. I used my Elegant Eggplant Stampin' Write Marker to color just the word Christmas on one of the greetings from the Bright & Beautiful stamp set to stamp below the "Merry". The snowflake randomly stamped on the card front is from a discontinued set; however, there are a few current stamp sets that contain similar snowflakes (Trendy Trims, Nature's Peace, Endless Wishes...). The Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon is also retired. Seasonally Scattered Thanks

Thanksgiving? Or just a fall thanks card. Either one. But the simple elegance says it all. Some gold embossing powder, gold satin ribbon and wooden leaves pressed into my gold ink pad set on Chocolate Chip card stock and mounted on a Mossy Meadow card front... Christmas Tags

Part of my November stamp class included Christmas gift tags. They were so much fun to make and not hard at all!  The tag below uses the Scalloped Tag Topper punch (133324, $22.95), Wondrous Wreath stamp set (9 Photopolymer stamps, 135047, $25.95) and the To & From stamp (1wood-mount stamp,13191, $6.95). I used the Cherry Cobbler Classic Stamp Pad (126966, $5.95) and Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine (25 yards, 123125, $2.95) to complete the tag.  For the star tag, I used a Baked Brown Sugar Stampin' Write Marker (5 in-color markers, 131260, $14.95) to color the points of the largest stamp in the Bright & Beautiful set (8 stamps, W 135026, $32.95; C 135029, $24.95), which I then stamped on Very Vanilla card stock (40 sheets, 101650, $8.50) and cut with one of the framelits in the set of Stars (5 layering dies, 133723, $26.95). The Baked Brown Sugar card stock (24 sheets, 131296, $6.95) was then cut with a framelit the next size up.  The Baker's Twine is Metallic Go

Bright and Beautiful

I had so much fun creating this card! In fact, I liked it so much, that I made essentially the same card into a birthday card for my granddaughter, who loves bling! I used Blackberry Bliss (purple is her favorite color) instead of the Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise and gold in this card and stamped the "rays" only in gold with the birthday greeting on the middle ray. Each star is mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals. Products Used: Bright & Beautiful stamp set (8), W 135026, $32.95; C 135029, $24.95 Work of Art stamp set (11), W 134111, $29.95; C 134114, $21.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Pacific Point 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 111350, $6.95 Gold 12" x 12" Glimmer Paper (2), 133719, $4.95 Pacific Point Classic Stampin' Pad, 126951, $5.95 Tempting Turquoise Classic Stampin' Pad, 126952, $5.95 Gold Metallic Encore Ink, 132141, $9.95 Stars Framelits (5), 133723, $26.95 ¼" Circle Punch,

Christmas Joy with Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set

Image
Our Photopolymer stamps are so sticky, you never have trouble making them stick to the acrylic block! And so transparent, they present no problem in lining them up when doing two-step (or three-step) stamping! The framelits that coordinate with the "Wondrous Wreath" stamp set (and you really want the framelits as well as the stamps) include the words "Joy" and "Noel". I chose to use "Joy" on this card partly because it fit so easily on my card front. I fear the Wild Wasabi embossing powder is no longer available, but one thing I've discovered with embossing powder is that it lasts a long, long time! Although I pour lots of powder on my stamped image (always stamp with a sticky ink like VersaMark), I always funnel the excess back into my jar, which is why it lasts so long.Anyway, you could always use white or gold in its place. Trick: When using a framelit like the word "Joy", cut it from a piece of waxed paper before cutting it
