Once again, I am marveling at all the possibilities to which the Work of Art stamp set lends itself! I had fun designing this Christmas tree, which is another of the cards we made at my September stamp class. Dazzling Details provided the glittery garland while the sequins made perfect ornaments. Granted, the use of Strawberry Slush is not the usual Christmas color, but it worked perfectly for this card since it is one of the In Colors found in the set of sequins. I am still so wowed by the versatility of the Work of Art stamp set. It all depends on how you place the stamps. These two cards were made with the same color scheme yet feature two different types of sailboats. The first card is the one we made at my September stamp class and is the one I thought was slightly easier than the other. No other stamp set is used on these cards. For the sails, I stamped off the Tempting Turquoise on scrap paper so the color would be slightly lighter than the "water".  For this card, just cut the Bitty Banner from the center of the same piece of Real Red card stock used for the mat. Such an easy way to conserve card stock! Then I simply wrote "HELLO" with my Stampin' Chalk Marker. I was so sad when we said farewell to Baja Breeze in our color collection. But I still have some products in that color left in my supplies and decided to use it. This card is paired with Island Indigo.

Yes, the Secret Garden stamp set with its coordinating framelits is retired, but I don't think I will ever tire of it! I found this image coordinated well with some of the designer series paper I had laying around that I really wanted to use up. While I was at it, I decided to use the use the Blended Bloom stamp and experiment with an etching technique I found on the web. This is the result (sorry my photo is a little blurry):

When I started making this note card, I wasn't expecting to fill it up as much as I did, but when I messed up with some errant ink, I had to come up with something to cover up the problem spots. I like the result, however, and I'm almost thankful for the problem spots. The flowers are made by stamping overlapping heart shapes in a circle. It has been a long time since I have posted, but summer has ended and routines have begun once again. And I have a class coming up this weekend featuring the Work of Art stamp set. When I first saw this set, I thought, "Why would anyone want such stamps?" Then I began to see what people did with them and fell in love with the set. I made this card while trying to use up old products. We will make it at my class this weekend, but I will use the molded buttons in place of the brads.
