More Timeless Talk

Image
Another card made from a challenge. I think this one is just plain fun and is suitable for either a man or a woman. And as dark as the Basic Gray card is, the Raspberry Ripple ink shows up well for the verse inside. Of course, the Raspberry Ripple will be leaving our collections in June as the 2012-14 In Colors are retired. Products Used: Timeless Talk stamp set (7), W 126605, $22.95; C 126607, $16.95 Remembering Your Birthday stamp set (8), W 131347, $23.95; C 131350, $17.95 Basic Gray 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 121044, $6.95 Raspberry Ripple 8½ x 11" card stock (24), 126842, $6.95 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 101650, $8.50 Birthday Basics 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 130145, $10.95 Raspberry Ripple Classic Stampin' Pad, 126859, $5.95 Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (10 yards), 126845, $8.95 Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape (5 yards each of 3 designs), 131269, $4.95 Framelits, Circles C

Big, Bold and Beautiful

Image
I tend to steer clear of the big and bold designer prints, but after I covered a tin with this dsp, I decided I just had to use it on a card. [I collect empty tea bag tins and cover them with our gorgeous designer series paper and then fill them with one of my many flavors of loose black tea.] Of course, I had to pull out a few retired products, like the Baja Breeze ink and card stock as well as the Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, but I'm pleased with the result. Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers made it possible for me to stamp the banner in two colors. Current Products: Chalk Talk stamp set (6), W 130631, $25.95; C 130634, $18.95 Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (6), W 132022, $15.95' C 126257, $11.95 Chalk Talk Framelits (7), 129983, $24.95 Bitty Banners Framelits (3), 129267, $14.95 Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker, 105115, $3.50 Stampin' Write Markers Neutrals Collection (8), 131261, $22.95

Dots, Dots, Dots!

Image
This card is a result of a challenge on our Heartfelt Stampers facebook page (a closed page for stamping demonstrators on our team). This stamp set is a favorite of mine, although I haven't used it as much as anticipated. Of course, that's partly because I have way too many great stamp sets to choose from! I am thankful Timeless Talk is not being discontinued. I've thought about trying this card in reverse as well, using Very Vanilla for the card, a Basic Black layer and then the small dots behind with the two strips with black background and a strip of Basic Black card stock in the middle where I have the Very Vanilla and ribbon. I seldom use Basic Black for the card base because I have to make a liner for the card, but I'm glad I did for this card. Products Used: Timeless Talk stamp set (7), W 126605, $22.95; C 126607, $16.95 Modern Medley 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 126926, $10.95 Basic Black 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 121045, $6.

Unique Flower

Image
Another twist on the Good as Gold card kit from Sale-a-Bration (SAB) had me adding this unique flower. I saw something similar on someone's blog where they used bakers twine on the scalloped circle. For this flower, I merely used the gold cord that came in the kit. When I finished it, I thought it needed something else and pulled out one of the discontinued buttons for the center. I actually cut an extra gold banner from the bottom of the foil envelope liner that comes with the kit. There was still plenty for the inside of the envelope. With that, I covered the words in a foreign language. Products Used: Good as Gold card kit, SAB Pistachio Pudding 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 131294, $6.95 1¼" Scallop Circle punch, 127811, $15.95 Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (3), 118309, $16.95 Neutrals Candy Dots (10 each, 10 colors), 130934, $5.95

Good as Gold Birthday Card

Image
One stamp, a few markers and some card stock scraps is all it took to change this card from the Good as Gold card kit (Sale-a-Bration). I used Baked Brown Sugar, Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango and Pistachio Pudding Stampin' Write Markers. Products Used: Good as Gold card kit (SAB) Delightful Dozen stamp set (12), Tangerine Tango 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 111349, $6.95 Bermuda Bay 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 131197, $6.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Brights Collection, Stampin' Write Markers (10), 131259, $28.95 In Color 2013-2015 Collection Stampin' Write Markers (5), 131260, $14.95

Accessorize

I laugh every time I use this stamp set that I bought at my granddaughter's request because I never thought I'd be using it for my own cards. When I look at some of these playful prints, I want a playful stamp set. The "Dress Up" set works perfectly! I adjusted the length of the three skinny colored banners in the kit. For the bow, I wrapped the full length of bakers twine round and round my fingers and tied it with a piece of gold cord. Products Used: Good as Gold card kit, SAB Dress Up stamp set (8), W 131981, $24.95; C 127319, $17.95 Six-Sided Sampler stamp set (11), W 130953, $26.95; C 130956 $18.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin' Pad, 126946, $5.95 Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin' Pad 131171, $5.95 Brights Candy Dots (10 each in 10 colors), 130931, $5.95 Stampin' Dimensionals (300), 104430, $3.95 Paper Snips, 103579, 9.95

Golden Variation

Image
So I'm still redesigning the Good as Gold card kit from Sale-a-Bration (SAB). The banners included in the set say "thank you" and "for you" in three languages. The kit contains eight cards and there are four of each phrase included. For this card, I chose to cover the words of the banners, which meant I didn't have to worry about which language I used so I could balance the colors. I also had a partial Tangerine Tango Top Note (Bigz Die) that I cut even smaller to fit in the corner. I love the effect! Finally, I wrapped the gold cord around and around two fingers and then tied the center for a multi-loop bow. A dab of all purpose glue and some gold glitter finished it off. Products Used: Good as Gold card kit, SAB Petal Parade stamp set (5), SAB Six-Sided Sampler (11), W 130953, $26.95; C 130956, $18.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Tangerine Tango 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 111349, $6.95 Tangerine Tango

Good as Gold Plus

I had a lot of fun playing with the Good as Gold card kit from Sale-a-Bration. For this one I added the unit with the embossed telephone. The three banners, Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine and gold cord, as well as the printed card, are all included in the kit. I also turned the card around. Products Used: Good as Gold card kit, SAB Timeless Talk stamp set (7), W 126605, $22.95; C 126607, $16.95 Bermuda Bay 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 131197, $6.95 Basic Black 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 121045, $6.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 VersaMark, 102283, $7.50 Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder (½ oz.), 109129, $4.75

Ballerina Thank You

Image
This thank you card is for my 5-year-old niece who thought of me when she went to the zoo with her parents, asking them if she could buy me a gift. So I wanted to create a card that she would really appreciate. This is actually one of 8 cards I altered to make my own from the Sale-A-Bration Good as Gold card kit. I added a little gold glitter to the tiara. Sorry the scanned image is slightly askew. I colored the ballerina rubber image before stamping, using Soft Suede, Basic Black and Tangerine Tango Markers. Then I carefully cut her out and mounted her on the Basic Black oval with Stampin' Dimensionals. The banners were all included in the kit. I'll share some of the other variations over the next few days. Products Used: Good as Gold card kit, SAB Stylin' Girl stamp set (4), W 130700, $18.95; C 130703, $14.95 Basic Black 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 121045, $6.95 Whisper White 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 100730, $8.50 Ovals Collection Frameli

Anyone for Tea?

Image
In case you hadn't guessed from my blog name, I'm a tea drinker. And I'm teaching my granddaughters to at least pretend they like tea. Consequently, we had to make some play tea bags. They turned out perfect. The only problem is that they are a little too big for their toy mugs. I might try cutting them narrower, perhaps removing one scallop on each side. These are made from 2" x 6" strips of Naturals Ivory card stock scored at 2-7/8" and 3-1/8" then punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. The little tags are stamped with an image and words from the retired Tea Shoppe stamp set and punched with Postage Stamp punch.

More Numbers

Ever since I discovered that the designer series paper that looked so childish could look very adult, even masculine, I have enjoyed using the Birthday Basics dsp. I always loved the designs and the colors, but just wasn't sure how to use it. With Basic Gray and the soon-to-retire Raspberry Ripple, the card is just what I need for those men in my circles whose birthdays need to be recognized. The button is one of our old ones, but there are still buttons available in the neutral collection. Products Used: Label Love stamp set (7), W 130619, $24.95; C 130622, $17.95 Birthday Basics 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (12), 130145, $10.95 Basic Gray 8½"x 11" card stock (24), 121044, $6.95 Raspberry Ripple 8½" x 11" card stock (24), 126842, $6.95 Very Vanilla 8½" x 11" card stock (40), 101650, $8.50 Raspberry Ripple Classic Stampin' Pad, 126859, $5.95 Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (10 yards), 126845, $8.95 Linen Th

Blessings Brighten When You Count Them

Image
Every once in a while there arises a need for a large card that's blank inside so the individuals in a certain group can write their own greeting. This card was designed for just such a time, the occasion of a teaching director in the local Community Bible Study stepping down from his position. I was asked to make the card for this group. For this card, I folded a full sheet of Crumb Cake card stock in half, added a strip of Midnight Muse, which I embossed twice; you can't even see the extra crease unless you look very closely. The dsp is from a discontinued paper stack and the ribbon will be retiring along with the 2012-14 In Colors, which include Midnight Muse. I loved having the little banner punch from the Sale-a-Bration brochure for this card; the banners added the needed extra touch. I fear the stamps are also retired, stamps I will always keep for these types of cards. The Window Frames Collection of Framelits Dies was perfect for the cover verse.

Petal Parade Stamp Set

Image
For this card, I decided to make my own "designer" paper using the colors I wanted. So I grabbed my Petal Parade stamp set (a Sale-a-Bration set) and randomly stamped the flowers on Whisper White card stock. I decided the arrows would work almost like leaves for this funky stamp set. A strip of ribbon and a greeting stamped and then punched with the coordinating punch and my card was ready. So simple and cheerful. I fear the fun ribbon is discontinued, but you could always dye white ribbon.
