Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel

This is the last card we made at the August wheel class. I saw a very similar card on someone's blog, but I fear I cannot remember where so that I can give proper credit.

The Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel was used as a dual background here, since I rolled it across both the top of the Perfect Plum card and across the strip of Certainly Celery card stock. The flower uses two images from the Vintage Vogue stamp set cut out and layered with a brad and popped up with a double layer of dimensionals. A little sponging with Perfect Plum classic ink added the finishing touches to the project.

Baby Tees

Another card from my class on using wheels to make cards. This one features the Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel. I rolled it across Whisper White card stock using Early Espresso Classic ink and then colored parts of the tees with Wild Wasabi and So Saffron Stampin' Write Markers. I then rolled again to get one baby tee that I could cut out and add with Stampin' Dimensionals. This is similar to another card I had designed some time ago using this wheel.

Baroque Borders

When preparing for my August class on wheels, I wanted to show different ways to use them. For this card, we used Post-It notes to help us mitre the corners. Once the technique is grasped, the card is a very simple one.

While designing, I couldn't resist the temptation to play around with the same wheel and colors to come up with a totally different look. I decided this one would take more time to make, so we made the previous card and I simply showed this one. In retrospect, this might have been easier simply because there was only one corner to mitre.

Musically Speaking...

This is one of the cards we made at my August class on using Stampin' Up! wheels. We made two cards with the standard wheels and two cards with the jumbo wheels, using them as backgrounds, borders and focal points. This one features the Music Notes standard wheel and the Fabulous Florets stamp set. Of course, the "Happy Anniversary" is from my most frequently used stamp set: Teeny Tiny Wishes. This card did require some careful cutting. Glue dots worked well for adhering the stem with its leaves, but I popped up the flower with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Products Used:
Fabulous Florets stamp set, W 123025, $23.95; C 123027, $17.95
Music Notes Standard Wheel, 120327, $6.50

Birthday Greetings

I celebrated my birthday earlier this month and this is the card my upline, Aly Schilling, sent to me. Bring on the Cake is the featured stamp set. I think the designer series paper is from the Pocketful of Posies pack. Such a fun card.

I Missed It!

I missed the July Heartfelt Stampers team meeting and all the personal recognitions that went along with hit. I seldom miss, but my sister was moving into town the night of our meeting and I figured that was more important. It's so nice to have her nearby!

Anyway, Aly made all the following items on "My Digital Studio". The first is a card recognizing me as 6th in sales for our team during the month of June. [Apparently I'm not getting things in my scanner straight so they look crooked even though they're not!]

I haven't figured out how to rotate this scanned item on the blog. It is a full 8½" x 11" page recognizing me as—can you believe it?—6th in sales for the whole Stampin' Up! year! Of course, that's only for our team members, but it's still a huge accomplishment since we have over 100 demonstrators on our team.

Finally, because of the months in which I sold over $1,000 and because of my one recruit, I am part of Aly's Grand Achiever's Day in September.
With "My Digital Studio", you can order your creations printed OR you can do as Aly did for these items. She printed them off on her color printer onto Whisper White card stock. For the cards, she cut the completed images and adhered them to the front of colored card stock. I didn't scan the inside of the invitation, but she also produced that on her MDS and adhered it inside. I have got to start playing with MDS on my own. Downloads cost less than accumulating all the designer series paper and the stamp sets, although you would go through a lot of color cartridges for your printer if you use it a lot this way. However, Aly has pointed out that, when using MDS for scrapbooks, you are avoiding the cost of printing your photographs. Plus Stampin' Up! has partnered with a printer who does high quality printing and keeps our colors true. That means you can do "hybrid" designs where you print the pages individually, add your own buttons and ribbons on top of the printed ones, and slip them into page protectors. Of course, you can always save space by having the entire album printed and bound for you. So many options!

More Nature's Pace

I've been playing with the Nature's Pace stamp set a lot. For this card, I used two different Textured Impressions Embossing Folers and also did a lot of cutting. You can't see the luminous effect of the Moonlight Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink on the grapes, but I love the depth it added to the cluster of grapes.

Rich Sympathy

Why is it I am so in need of sympathy cards? The need seems to go in seasons, but the need is very real. I take pleasure in creating cards that bring pleasure in the midst of sorrow.

This card was actually an extra card kit from last year's fall stamping retreat that was never made up, so the designer series paper is discontinued. However, we do have other dsp that will work just as well and it is on sale this month from Stampin' Up! Just purchase three packs of dsp and get a fourth pack free. The specialty papers are not included, but there are still 14 left to choose from, including the Nautical Expedition dsp from the Summer Mini Catalog, which expires August 31st. I fear the 1¼" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon is no longer available in Rich Razzleberry. You could try Cherry Cobbler in its place.

At least the Fabulous Florets stamp set is still available, as is the Eyelet Border punch. Notice the special effect created by inserting the Clear Rhinestone Brad into the Rich Razzleberry button. I simply spread the prongs so I could put one in each hole. How fun is that!

Current Products Used:
Fabulous Florets stamp set, W 123025, $23.95; C 123027, $17.95
Teeny Tiny Wishes, W 115370, $36.95

Fantastic!

This is the card Aly Schilling made for me because I was number 9 on our team for sales. Other than the Early Espresso and the Whisper White for the card itself and the background of the focal point, Aly used the new 2011-2013 In Colors, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Calypso Coral. The ribbon is the new quilted satin ribbon that will be available in the new Holiday Mini Catalog, effective September 1. She used the Language of Friendship stamp set, along with its coordinating Bird Builder punch. I believe the Island Indigo frame is cut with the Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die.

I absolutely love this card! I have the punch and plan to purchase the stamp set on my next order.

Music at Nature's Pace

Just spent last Saturday at a Stamp Fest put on by my upline for demonstrators on her team. I don't always participate in the shoebox swap, but decided to do so this time. We each chose a stamp set new to our 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog and designed a card with it. We then put all the supplies necessary to make the card in a shoebox and swapped until every one had a chance to make all the cards. I think there was one I ran out of time and energy to make, although I really liked it and was wishing I had made it since it was a great masculine card.

Anyway, this is the card I designed using the Nature's Pace stamp set. I have to chuckle because I have never really liked the River Rock color, yet I've featured it in both cards designed for the two swaps I participated in. It paired so nicely with the Early Espresso. I used pastel Stampin' Write Markers to lightly color the image, taking care not to press hard with my markers, so little color was needed.

Products Used:
Nature's Pace Stamp Set, W 122660, $24.95; C 122662, $17.95
River Rock Card Stock, 108640, $6.95, 24 sheets, 8½" x 11"
Early Espresso Card Stock, 119686, $6.95, 24 sheets, 8½" x 11"
Very Vanilla Card Stock, 101650, $8.50, 40 sheets, 8½" x 11"
Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad, 119670, $5.95
River Rock Stampin' Write Marker, 120972, $3.50
So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker, 105114, $3.50
Pink Pirouette Stampin' Write Marker, 120969, $3.50
Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, 120999, $6.95, 10 yds
Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, 120175, $7.95
Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, 113439, $99.95

Did you know that you can get the Big Shot for half price with a $400 workshop? Or any other item, large or small, in the catalog.

More Wheelies

Here are three more cards made with Jumbo Wheels. I am selling the two discontinued ones for $4.25 (they would be $8.50 plus shipping and handling plus sales tax if purchased new). Although the wheels are discontinued, the other elements in these cards are currently available. [For some reason, I was thinking the third wheel was also dropped, but it is still available, so you'll have to place an order from the catalog if you want that one. I decided I would still showcase it here.]

For this Whisper White card, I ran a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot inside the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder and adhered it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Real Red classic ink and card stock add vivid color. The Full Heart and Small Heart punches provided the shapes to go behind the cut-out stamped images (I [Heart} Heart stamp set).
The Swirling Stars Jumbo Wheel could easily be used for any type of celebration. I chose to use it here as a birthday card, but it would be great as a Christmas card, perhaps paired with the "joy" ornament in the Delightful Decorations stamp set. The colors in this card are Whisper White, Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise. Since I love the Four Frames and Fabulous Phrases stamp sets, I used them, along with the coordinating punches, to finish off the card. Always stamp your images before punching them; that way you can line them up perfectly.
This final Real Red and Whisper White card uses the wheel I mistakenly thought was discontinued but is actually still available in the current catalog. So here is an early idea for your Christmas cards! The Sparkle & Shine jumbo wheel coordinates perfectly with the Delightful Decorations stamp set. And, of course, we have an Ornament punch to go with it. Notice how I used the wheel inked with Real Red to make a background on the Real Red card stock. I also punched 3/4" circles to put inside two of the ornaments from the wheel. The punched-out ornament is mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals. To add some bling, I covered the ornament and the circles with our Dazzling Diamonds glitter. "Merry Christmas" came from the Come to Bethlehem stamp set.

Let's Get Wheelin'!

As I thought about discontinued items I have for sale, I realized some may have difficulty imagining what they can do with the jumbo wheels. So I decided to make one sample with each of the wheels I have for sale, a total of seven cards. I'm showcasing four today and will post the other three tomorrow, barring unforeseen circumstances.

This card uses the Symphony jumbo wheel rolled across Very Vanilla card stock and cut to fit. It is bordered with More Mustard card stock (which is also the card base) and backed with So Saffron dsp from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack, Subtle Collection. I stamped the words from With All My Heart and Fabulous Phrases stamp sets with Early Espresso Classic ink. The flower is colored with So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker and embellished with a rhinestone jewel.
The card below features the Leaves Awash jumbo wheel using Wild Wasabi classic ink (also the color of coordinating card stock for card) on Very Vanilla card stock. I used Chocolate Chip card stock and classic ink for the remaining embellishments. The acorns comes from the Autumn Splendor stamp set and the "happy birthday" comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I used four punches for this card: Word Window, Modern Label, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle and 1-3/8" Circle. I also ran the scalloped piece through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Embossing Folder.
The Watercolor Vine with Wild Wasabi classic ink adorns the front of this birthday card. Once again I used Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasabi card stocks, as well as Chocolate Chip classic ink (the greeting is from the On Your Birthday stamp set). I merely added assorted Flower Brads and trimmed it with Chocolate Chip card stock punched with the Lace Ribbon Border punch.
The final card for today is done in Old Olive, Tanagerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Very Vanilla. Notice the textures of the card and flower accomplished with one of the Backgrounds I Texturz Plates. After rolling the Doodle Jumbo Wheel with Old Olive classic ink, I used Tango Tangerine and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Markers on the flowers. That piece was mounted on Daffodil Delight card stock and tied with Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. The Fancy Flower and 3/4" circle punches helped form the big flower which was held together with a coordinating flower brad.
I'm selling my discontinued jumbo wheels for $4.25; you would pay $8.50 plus shipping and handling and sales tax if you were to purchase them brand new.
