Button Flower Cards

Today I am sharing three cards designed by Aly Schilling, my upline, for us to make at our recent Stamp Fest with the Heartfelt Stampers team of demonstrators. Each uses the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch from the Summer Mini Catalog with a button for the flower center. The stamp sets are also from the Summer Mini Catalog.

For this first card, the stamp Hello Blossoms was colored with Baja Breeze, Elegant Eggplant and Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Markers before stamping on card stock. The new Baker's Twine is great for running through buttons and tying tiny bows. The flower consists of images 1 and 3 from the punch, using Elegant Eggplant and Baja Breeze card stock.


The card below features Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper along with Daffodil Delight and More Mustard card stock. Images 1 and 2 were punched using Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso card stock to form the flower, topped with a More Mustard button and Baker's Twine. The Bold Blossom stamp set provides the shadow of a butterfly and the greeting.


The Touch of Kindness stamp set provides the stamped image and the words for this card. Only image 3 of the punch is used to create the flower itself from Marina Mist card stock. Certainly Celery and More Mustard area the other colors used in this design. Note: Dimension is added to this card by cutting a piece of Whisper White card stock slightly smaller than the card front and then attaching it with Stampin' Dimensionals.

You Mean Everything to Me

As much as I prefer scanning my cards over photographing them, I find there are some disadvantages. My little banner that is stamped with "you mean everything to me" loses the 3D look as it gets flattened by the cover of the scanner. Kyla and I were just playing around with ideas while she was visiting (did I mention, she's my new recruit?) and this was one of the cards I designed. Gathering the ribbon slightly, cutting out the heart image and folding and trimming the "banner" across the heart meant a little extra fussing, but I really like the result. When I was all finished with the card, I decided to add a little sparkle by spraying it with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. If you look closely, you can see some of the sparkle that added to the card, including the ribbon. When you actually hold it in your hands, you can see the glittery shimmer much more easily. The Christmas Quilt bundle has so much versatility! I'm still using the Blooms & Bliss designer paper from last year's catalog as I design these cards. Today's post uses different designs from the pack from Saturday's post. Once again you can see the variety acquired using the same papers. The greetings on both these cards, as on so many others, come from the Best Birds stamp set. Easter Daffodils

"You're Inspiring" stamp set is perfect for Easter or Mother's Day or sympathy or almost any occasion. With Easter approaching, that holiday was the obvious choice. This card uses two Sale-a-Bration items as well as the "You're Inspiring" stamp set from the Occasions Catalog: the Basket Weave embossing folder and the Springtime Foils Specialty dsp. And of course I used the Stampin' Blends! I'm wondering if I'll ever use my markers, now that I have experienced the 3D effects of our blends that also allow me to color with no streaks. Unless you have the Springtime Foils dsp, you may not realize that the leaves on this sheet are not green.  You can color this glossy paper with metallic designs using your Stampin' Blends, which is what I did here.
