Stamp or Treat!

One of the activities at our recent Oktoberfest (stamping retreat for demonstrators on the Heartfelt Stampers team) was Stamp or Treat! We were each to prepare some container or wrapper for candy using Stampin' Up! products. As you scroll through the following pictures, you will see that a lot of us used the Big Shot. The first one is my creation using Tangerine Tango card stock, Top Note Bigz Die for the Big Shot, gold brads and stamps from Harvest Home and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets.

One of our creations at the retreat was this bag which we adorned with fabric cut with Tasteful Trim Bigs XL die (Holiday Mini Catalog), Bear Bigz die and Kooky Spooky die for the Big Shot utilizing the Big Shot Fabric Adhesive Roll (Holiday Mini Catalog) and an iron. I've added two more candy containers, one cut with the Scallop Square Bigz Die and one with the Matchbox Bigz xl Die.

The bats on the jar of candy corn were punched with the Bitty Bat Large Punch from a Decor Elements Sheet. Our Fancy Favor Bigz xl Die was used for the textured Old Olive bag adorned with a pumpkin made with layers of ovals (Oval Large Punch). The candy container on the bottom right of this picture was cut with the envelope portion of the Bitty Box & Envelope Bigz xl Die. The other items were made with the creators' imagination, although the round container once contained Stampin' Up! buttons.

Fabric cut with the Scallop SquareBigz Die forms a bag for pretzels that can double for a jewelry bag. I'm sure you recognize the Top Note Bigz Die folded over, decorated and attached to the bag of bat-shaped candies. The witch's hat is 4" x 11" card stock scored in half and then at angles and folded together. So clever! The little package in the center back is two scored tags cut with the Two Tags Bigz Die and overlapped to form a flat bottom.

Still more dies used for these candy gifts—the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die and the Box #2 Bigz xl Die. And our Two-Step Owl punch decorates two of them.

Here are some packages that can be used for other holidays. The creator of the center one arranged the wedges in a circle to look like a cake before "serving" them to the Stamp-or-Treaters." You can probably recognize the Top Note and Two Tags Bigz Dies for two of the packages. The final one is a strip of designer paper folded like a match book.

These are the final spooky candy wraps. On the left is another matchbook adorned with great detail. Scallop punches worked for sandwiching the sucker. Turn it over, and a round hole was punched so you can see the sucker through it. The final package was formed with the Pillow Box Bigz Die and decorated with rub-ons found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Are you inspired? Most of these are for Halloween, but just think of all the ways you can decorate for other special occasions!

A Big Two

You haven't heard from me in a while because we've been cruising in New England and Canada. We started in Boston, stopping in Bar Harbor, Sydney, Halifax, Prince Edward Island and Quebec before winding up in Montreal. I have to admit the flight home was almost enough to ruin the great time we had on the cruise. Waiting around in airports, flying over our destination before waiting again in another airport only to fly to our final destination. And the security is getting ridiculous. But there's nothing we can do about that but focus on the good times instead of the frustrating times.

My niece just turned two years old and I'm late getting this birthday card to her, which is why I only stamped the first part of the stamp from the "On Your Birthday" stamp set before punching it out with our Word Window Punch. I then folded over the empty space of the punched out card stock and tucked it under the Real Red mat for the designer paper (Play Date).

Such an easy card to whip up. The "2" is from an old set of On Board accessories. Now that I'm using these numbers more, I think I'm going to have to order the Alphabet Simple Numbers Bigz Dies for my Big Shot so I can cut my own chipboard numbers. With a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a large scrap of designer paper, the drab chipboard comes to life. Of course, if I'd had the dies for my Big Shot, I could have covered the chipboard before running it through the die cut machine. Naturally, I had to dress it up a little more by adding the Flower Brads.
